I have been emailing contacts who have MSN/Hotmail addresses from orange and none of the emails has been delivered but I have not received any non delivery message.
Is anyony aware how long this has been going on and what the problem is.
Orange seem aware of the problem but nothing is happening to fix it
Thanks

What do you mean by 'MSN/Hotmail addresses from Orange'?
Hotmail is a webmail service from Microsoft, nothing to do with Orange.
Orange may be their ISP but they don't have any connection with Hotmail. No free lunch, and no free laptop

worked that one out try
"MSN/Hotmail addresses from orange i.e. an orange/freeserve/wanado address"0 -
So it's nothing to do with Hotmail, you're simply referring to an Orange email address that is being accessed via Hotmail rather than by a desktop email program?
i.e. the address is not joe.bloggs@hotmail.co.uk, but joe.bloggs@orange.co.uk?
In which case it is an Orange issue. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Correct
I was pointing out that if one is blindly emailing joebloggs@hotmail from your orange account it is not getting there.
As I understand it this is a general fault that hotmail is blocking all orange addresses due to a spam issue.
The problem is no one is telling orange customers this and no non delivery notice is coming back to the sender
YES this is an orange issue and it appear to effect mail to several other providers0 -
Ah, sorry, I read your original post as 'MSN/Hotmail addresses from Orange', not 'MSN/Hotmail addresses, from an Orange account'.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Sorry I knew we would get there in the end
Orange Customer care is now admitting the problem on there help line but I feel that few people know of the fault and like me presumed if you send an email there should be every chance of it getting there unless you receive a non delivery notice.
Just a pity there appears little trust between providers
I did contact MSN who stated that my IP address was blocked through a spam issue but they didn't mention that all orange mail was

Hi retiredatlast
We are aware of some temporary blocks on a number of our email servers by several other providers, which may be causing delays or non-delivery of some of our customer's emails at the moment. We apologise for any inconvenience and assure you that we are working to remedy this situation as soon as possible.

Personally I've found mobile operators SMTP servers generally extremely poor.
I found a fix for this a while back and if you are able to delve into the settings on the phone I can offer the following which worked for me.
Follow the intructions on this Blog post (not mine)
http://blog.brightpointuk.co.uk/sending-email-smtp-vodafone-uk
This works on any network (or WiFi).
Alternatively Yahoo or Googlemail have their own SMTP servers so the problem goes away if you use either of these e-mail providers.0 -
Darren ( Orange Helpers )
Will you please post on here when the problem is resolved as at the moment I am having to ring up people to ask if they have received the emails!!!!!!
Why is it that Orange, who knew of the proplem, didn't make some form of effort to publicise it ?
Thanks0 -
People on orange uk site and other forums have raised the issue of emails not arriving or arriving days later for weeks and weeks now.
How long does orange consider temporary?0
