I'm wondering whether the word is compensation. Worth a try?

How do we prove that the mortgage is not contrived to make money?
It is not clear whether you are asking whether your son can get help with his mortgage payments
If your son had been able to get the mortgage himself then clearly he would not be getting any assistance
Just because it is a buy to let does not mean it is viable for claiming housing benefit
It is clearly not a commercial tenancy - the deposit was his and his 'landlord' would not evict him if he did not pay rent
No housing assistance would be payable
They will be fine for child benefit and child tax credits, this will have no bearing and once he is 25 possibly working tax credits0
