Bought one about 2 months ago. Retail outlet called sleepmaster. Extremely helpful staff, well informed on the different types, and company policy to swap the product if found unsuitable, which we found a real bonus should we find we didn,t get on with it. Did a price comparison, they were not the cheapest, but not by far. Excellent delivery and installation service, they text you the day before to remind of delivery, and were very able to shift the time for us at the last minute. (No I haven't got shares in the firm)

We opted for the sprung type. Ie traditional matress overlaid with the memory foam about 3 to 4 inches thick. As opposed to the full foam. It offers terrific support, wife suffers with her back but has had a huge impact on her comfort. I have slept like a log since we've had it. And the memory foam reduces noise levels, if you get my drift. We have teenagers!!

In essence I would highly recommend the product and sleepmasters.

  • Hi .
We recently purchased the below from The bed Depot @ a cost of £499.00 for king size.
Visco pro supreme pocketed sprung mattress.
It is not total foam memory, just a layer on the top. It is by far the most comfortable mattress we have ever slept on, very warm too. I highly recommend it. Also it is worth while buying the pillows to go with the mattress, very expensive at £40 each but worth it. https://www.whatsgoingcheap.co.uk are doing memory pillows for £12.34 each but cannot comment on these.
    Hope this helps.

Why not just get a matress topper if the matress is OK you can get them for around £80 for a Kingsize

Ive got a memory foam matteress and its one of the best things I have ever bought. Its so comfortable. I used to wake up with parts of me aching, I dont any more.

I paid about 500 quid for mine in the sale in beds direct last year. Mine is the actual memory foam matteress not a matteress topper.

has anyone issues with heat build up and swaeting with these?
  • Matteress Topper
Saw some of these in Bensons today, but not on web site, looked like about 2" depth of foam
    About £50 for a double.
Toppers - Are they worth a go ?
  • I read info and advice from this site over a year ago, and we bought a 3" memory foam topper (from ebay, aprox £120 I think) On top of our existing mattress it is lovely, so so comfortable, I don't think it is a cure-all for bad backs though, but we love it.
I'm sure the bed is warmer too, but as it has been quite mild really, can't be sure. I would mention though, that all the fitted sheets I had wouldn't fit, I bought flat ones and sewed them to size! also the bedspread had to be altered as the bed looks so much higher now!
A friend bought a full memory foam mattress at about the same time, they are pleased with theirs too, but her husband who is quite heavy found it difficult to get up from! no "give" in it I suppose as no springs!!

We haven't had any issues with excessive heat & sweating due the the mattress, it seems fine. Any excessive heat problems are normally caused if we put a duvet on that's too thick and a hot water bottle at the same time :)

I have had no problem with overheating and sweating. Mine has like a ventilation system through the middle (like a honeycomb).
