Currently with EDF for both gas and electricity on the Online Tarif V7 which comes to an end on 31st December and I will be transferred onto the standard tariff. If I switch now will I have to pay the exit fees? Received a letter informing me of this dated November 2011.0

In practice your new supplier will wait till after the 7 - 14 days cooling-off period (check this with the new supplier) and the actual switch should take place about 3 weeks after that. So, well after 31st December. As you say, EDF should put you on their standard tariff for the period between 31st Dec and the switching date.Warning: In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.

I've been charged an early termination fee on my final Electricity bill for both gas and elec OnlineSaver7 at £30 each by EDF.
I notified EDF that I did not accept their price rise on the 16 Jun 2011 that was due to take place on the 14 Jul 2011 and that I would be switching to nPower.
I have today made a complaint by email to EDF that I have been charged the early termination fees despite my letter to them not accepting the price rise and initiating a supplier move.
I messaged EDF via their website 1 Dec and then again around 20 Dec with a 10 day wait on each - both receiving no response.
I then emailed their CustomerServicesDirector@edfenergy.com address and received a response within 1 day today:Thank you for your email dated 1st December, 2011, I apologise for the delay in responding.
I apologise as the early termination fees should not have been applied to the account. I have refunded £60.00 into your bank account and this will show on you statement in approximately 3 working days.
So check those final bills. If you've been charged exit fees despite telling them you weren't accepting their price rise, contact them and get your money back.
Cheers

We've been with EDF Energy for a few years now and have just signed up to their new tariff fixing prices for the next two years. I've even had a rep from Scottish Power admit that this was one of the best on the market! Needless to say I was quite shocked to hear that bearing in mind he'd phoned up to offer me a better deal. Also there are no fees to pay for exiting the scheme early.0
