...Even the comparison sites use rates about 20% less than what they will be on the 10th Nov, despite them saying they have included last weeks EDF rises...
I don't want to quibble with what you say, I'm more interested in ETC avoidance advice and accurate Consumer Focus accredited comparison websites, but given you are not hearing anything from Edf how have you become aware of the OS7 increases?
How would the media be aware?0 -

the media quoted that edf have put up prices 4-5% in the last week. OS7 have gone up 20-25% again.0 -
when I login online, I can see PRICE TARIFFS.PDF which clearly shows further 20-25% price increases from 10Nov.

Ha, given the date you started supply you are probably on the "old" login. I have the "misfortune" of being on the new MyAccount. I am on FP 2014 and when I login, although my tariff name is correctly shown, the linked tariff prices are only "standard tariffs".
Whether the prices are "random" or not I have little idea although Direct Debit reviews appear to be "random":D.0 -

emailed them lots but just get ignored and havent got hours of my life free to sit in one of their telephone queues.
The worst energy supplier I have ever been with by far (tried most of them)0 -
I swapped emails this morning with the people at the end of the EDF twitter account, regarding whether the 10 Nov increases apply to Online S@ver v7. I emailed that address after the "Contact" form on the EDF website returned an error message when I submitted it. (I had been told by a customer services person on the phone yesterday that the November increase would apply to OS7.)
After clarifying what I meant (and linking to the information in this thread) I have received the following email from them:This is a list of the tariffs NOT affected by the price increase- Annual Fix v1 (Closing on 31 Dec 2011) and Annual Fix v2
- Fixed Price 2013, 2014 (withdrawn on 14 Sept 2011) and 2015
- Fixed S@ver v1 and v2
- Fix for 2012
- Online S@ver v7, v9, v10 and v12
- Energy S@ver v2
You are correct in that the Online S@ver v8 is not included in this list and will therefore be affected by the price increase.
I am sorry you have been given incorrect information previously but please be assured the information I have provided to you is correct.
The total time for the email exchange was less than my hold time on the phone yesterday. :-)
Edit: I am a long-time lurker on the forums.

Mine clearly shows further increases from 10Nov of 20-25% on OS7.0 -
Have you checked your price tariffs online after logging in?
Mine clearly shows further increases from 10Nov of 20-25% on OS7.
You must get a different page to me then...
I dont even get an up to date price list when I log in!!!
All it shows is the standard and economy 7 rates so not much use really.
Also the only date mentioned is 2nd March 2011 so it is quite an old price list.
Is there any reason you have to disbelieve heth66??
The only valid reason would be the info from EDF as they really dont have a clue!!0 -

I switched to EDF towards the end of 2010. Naively, perhaps, I thought that a tariff with the words "Online S@ver" in the name would be an account that I could administer online. But it seems that, in EDF-speak, "online" actually means "on (the telephone) line (and being on hold for 25 minutes at a time)". To get from that 14-word phrase to "online" is a bit of an abbreviation but, with hindsight, maybe I should have realised.
I've asked EDF for a login several times, and have been told for many months that the "new system" will be "ready soon". (The words in quotes also have their own EDF-meanings, but I have yet to determine what these are as none of it has happened for me.)
Sarcasm aside, I'm not able to see any login-only pages about tariffs. (I did point at this thread and quote your post about the tariffs you could see when logged in, but they only replied with the text in my previous post.)0 -

You really arent missing much :rotfl:
A prime example.
Based on my usage for gas & electric over the last year (kwh)...
Factoring in a price rise for online saver v7 (not that clear at the moment but I allowed enough)
My annual total bill would be £948 so about £80 a month.
On the my account page is a change product option so I thought maybe I would see what they have to offer.
The figures they have are based on the energy they think I will use in 12 months based on my consumption data (the same data I used??)...
So they say I will save £44.48 a year on fixed saver v2 :T
But...
My yearly usage will be £2184 at £182 a month
Maybe there is a bigger price rise then I think0 -

Anyway, cancelling my DD next month so I dont leave them with any credit in my account as I suspect it would takes months if not years to get this money back!.0
