Wish I'd read this thread before signing up! Anyway, here's my story

Signed up to "areyoupeckish" last week with a "first box free" code and opted for one box per week with a Monday delivery. Received my first box on Monday and, whilst the quality wasn't as good as Graze, everything seemed OK. This morning (Wed), the postman arrived with another 3 boxes! I immediately checked my PayPal account (I know I should have done this on Mon) and discovered that they have been taking £3.49 out of my account every day for the past 6 days. So my "free" box has actually cost me £20.94! I've filled in the online form complaining and asking for my money back (I'll happilly send them todays 3 boxes back if they pay the postage) and I've cancelled all future orders via PayPal. I'll wait a few days to see if they respond but I'm seriously considering lodging a payment query with PayPal.

I suppose it serves me right for cheating on Graze!

    2011 - £50 French Connection Voucher
  • Thankfully I haven't had to fill in any payment details. But I have no idea whether or not I will get my free box!

When I try to log in it goes to my details and the option 'login' is still at the top of the page.
When I go to 'my orders' it tells me that I've made an order but it also says this:

Order status: Unknown - Please contact support!
    Warning
: mysql_data_seek() U]function.mysql-data-seek[/U: Offset 0 is invalid for MySQL result index 218 (or the query data is unbuffered) in /home/areyoupe/public_html/resources/mysql/mysql.class.php on line 1219.

When I click the function.mysql-data-seek link it tells me:

    Not Found

Sorry, but you are looking for something that isn't here.

The only bit I can see for contacting them is under 'help' and 'contact us'. I've tried that and they haven't got back to me!

I have had a free box from Graze and I agree that they were much better! I got my free box on the day I was supposed to with all the things I wanted at no charge. Although stopping all future orders was a bit confusing, and there seems to be no way to leave the site.

After posting a comment on Twitter (and Facemuck) yesterday I received this message from Areyoupeckish

"I'm writing to you on behalf of Are You Peckish. Whilst monitoring twitter and facebook I see you have a problem with us. We have had a complete system nightmare since our ads went out in the press this week and as a new company these problems are inevitable, I'm sorry about this.

What is your name as it appears on paypal and I will refund you now.

    Please accept my apology again."

Interestingly, they haven't yet responded to my official complaint via their website!

No response to my email from earlier in the week either. What an absolutely unprofessional company. 'As a new company these problems are inevitable' is such a pathetic excuse, they should not have put 'ads out in the press' if they were not prepared to deal with the response. Problems should never be referred to as 'inevitable' by a staff member, it doesn't invite much confidence that the company was actually prepared to launch properly! I see from their twitter that they are aware of this thread, maybe they should read it and take note ;)

The contact us form appears to be getting ignored. Ordered on the 2nd of August, nothing so far. Wish I'd seen the free code, paid a quid for mine from Wowcher!

I got the box about a week ago having cancelled my payment the day before. All four boxes were poorly sealed and some of the items were soft as a result (Chinese Crackers). I wrote to them to let them know and, at the least, expected an email thanking me for letting them know.

    Surprise, surprise....nothing.

They are not doing themselves any favours.
  • I too signed up for the deal, i received the free box, but then i discovered they had taken 2 payments out of my account on the same day, so i have cancelled the payment, i haven't received the boxes yet, i have emailed them twice now and no response. i have tried to phone them too but no answer and surprise surprise the mailbox is full. i guess ill chalk this up to experience and go back to graze.

It's a shame this company is operating so underhand and unprofessionally, I would totally have tried the freebie if they didn't charge for it! I can recommend Graze to people who are interested in this type of product though, yummy and they didn't charge me for my free box!
  • I ordered a free box & they sent stuff I didn't like plus the chilli rice crackers were STALE!!!

I received a second box which I was charged for as didn't cancel in time , this time again , stuff I don't like & another lot of stale crackers = NOT impressed!!! :(:(

They seem happy to take the £3.50 for items worth a few pence in my book as most of the items were pretty manky to be honest & I definitely would not recommend... Will be asking for a refund as am not a satisfied customer to say the least & they don't give you enough time to cancel before payments are hastily taken from your Paypal account for stuff you don't even want!

Looks like this one is a NO-brainer! I shall not be taking up the offer!
