Morrisons car park warning

Obviously it's agreed these fines are not legal and you don't have to pay. However if there are signs in a car park saying you can only park for three hours you should only park for three hours. For the life of me I can't understand why you would want to spend more than 3 hours in a supermarket anyway! Everyone who complains about these fines would soon complain if they couldn't park because all the spaces were taken by all day parkers.
As for parking in disabled spaces anyone with a moderum of decency in them would only park in a disabled space if they are disabled. I am pretty certain that most disabled people would give up there parking privileges in return for not being disabled! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Have either of you two heard of an oft used phrase "Plan, Do, Review"? Most large companies use this (or worded similarly, at least).
We've followed that throughout the coarse of the last few years in our car park.
.
ANPR system #2 which we're still on, had for a few months, the odd teething problem but other than that, appears to be going OK. In the event that we have a repeat, we'll go through the motions again. Nothing is permanent.
If you have people collecting trolleys could they not police the car park. They could also help shoppers with advice and carrying heavy shopping. It would present a very positive customer experience.
This is exactly what happens in a Waitrose car park I use and it is a pleasure to shop there.
I am glad ANPR system 2 is working but you have to be careful. If eventually all the motorists obeyed the parking rules all the time, the PPC would have zero income. They would need to recover their investment in the cameras some how, and that is when they start making up infringements.
Unfortunately by the time you are aware of this happening, you may have lost a lot of customers.
I posted in another thread where this happened, and the DIY store has now ceased trading.0 -

Why not? I can spend as much time in a supermarket as I want. It saves on the heating bills.
Anyway the parking notice states no more than 2 hours.
As I said I met some friends so after shopping we went to the cafe. Which Morrisons encourage you to visit. Why else do they have a cafe?
Also the car park is free, there are no barriers anywhere. It is in a large retail park where half the units are shut down so it is not as if there is a shortage of parking spaces.
So just to reiterate, if you think you may spend more than 2 hours in Morrisons because you decide to visit the cafe then don't. You will be charged £40 for the privilege of doing so.
I did wonder why the car park was half empty though and yet the shop was busy. Most cars were parked in an adjacent car park which has no restrictions as to how long you can park.
And I have not even had a reply to the email I sent to Morrisons CEO.
Could someone tell me if this is the correct email address?

Well famously you can't because if you do then you get a £40 fine!
I don't really understand why you keep banging on about this cafe! There were signs in the car park saying that you had to pay a fine if you stayed longer than 2 hours. There was no small print underneath saying "not applicable if you visit the cafe"
Its already been said that you don't have to pay this £40, plus you have declared you will never shop in Morrisions again so I would stop getting stressed about it, stop emailing the CEO of Morrisons and forget about it!This is a system account and does not represent a real person. This. With bells on.
1.Take letter in hands and tear
2.Repeat step one
3.File under 'B' for Bin
4.Have a victorious cup of tea
5.For any future correspondence return to step 1.
And thats all you need. Not email addresses or people to write to. Let it go, it's not worth battling when you have no need to battle.0 -

Its not a fine. A private company cannot fine you for anything. Its a scam or at best a begging letter- ignore and put in the bin.0

Where did I say I was paying this £40 extortion demand?
I am warning people that if they do decide to avail themselves of Morrisons cafe after they have done their shopping that they should be prepared to find an extortion demand on their car for £40 in case they are not bright enough to realise that it is an extortion demand.
Have a look at the Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking forum to see how many people believe that they should pay.
There are more posters asking if they should pay than posters saying, like me, that they won't pay.Its not a fine. A private company cannot fine you for anything. Its a scam or at best a begging letter- ignore and put in the bin.
And I never got a letter, I got a dirty great big sticky envelope stuck on my windscreen.
I am awaiting the letters though, then I will take them into Morrisons and hand them to the manager and tell him or her that is why I am not spending over £100 a week in their store and no longer will my son and daughter.
And since this is a public forum where anyone can post, I will post here as long and often as I like.
If someone doesn't like it, tough! You can ignore my posts.0
