But that would have actually been violence against an 80 year old man, as opposed to a silly stunt.0 -
I had to do a double take there until I realised it was an "st"!0

While not condoning what happened, how come there were no cameras facing that way at the time? Also loved the way events were relayed to DC and because of the quality of the line, foam was misheard as phone!A smile costs little but creates much0

I bet all these politicians and police involved with this are all freemasons.0

But parliamentary security is tight, have you never had the pleasure of queuing for hours at the St Stephen's entrance?
Edit: sorry, I meant slow! There is of course no correlation between speed and efficiency, esp not in government.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

You're a 'glass half empty', kind of person, aren't you olias?
The amount of extra damage limitation that would have been achieved by his going there in person rather than sending others is as close to nil as you can get.
I've never liked the man, nor his political influence, but that does not make him purely evil.
I suggest that you try and get a sense of proportion.
A part of a ruthless billionaire business moguls empire is caught breaking the law, hacking the phones of dead murder victims to get a story to sell papers to make even more money for him, bribing police and government to similar ends. As a result the value of his company has dropped by over a £billion.
That same business mogul then closes down the newspaper concerned, gets his chief executive to resign (with a £3.5 million pay off!), takes out full pages ads in every paper to say how sorry he is, goes to say sorry to the Dowlers (making sure all the press are aware and present to record the event), and then telling the commons committee that it is the most humble day of his life!!!
Get real, if you can't see a man who is worried about one thing and one thing only, and that is his business empire, then I give up.
I did not say the man was evil - I said he was a ruthless business man, who's priority was money and power. And that is what has been leading his actions over the last week or so.
