Yes it is shameful. It's really brave attacking an 80 year old man who has his back to you.

I don't think the hacking / attacks on innocents was right or justifiable at all - but neither do I think that physical attack was right either.

I have despised Rupert Murdoch and his newspapers for years, but for anyone to launch a physical attack on an 80 year old man is reprehensible. I hope the attacker serves prison time.

I've always disliked Murdoch, primarily because I do not agree with any non British resident having the power that comes from owning so much of the British media.

However, it took a great deal of guts for him to go and meet the Dowler family after what those scumbags did to them. That counts for something. And kicking someone when they are down as this clown did is pretty reprehensible in itself.

Wonder when his wife will be arrested and charged - then sued by the attacker? That's how British justice works isn't it??

Its only a plate of shaving foam, not exactly battering him over the head with an iron bar.

Clearly the security for the meeting was as secure as some of the dodgy reporters with the NOW paper. Just how did someone get in there with either a paper plate of shaving foam or a can of it.
