Hope that you get things sorted asap, Greenbee - and that those idiot inlaws get a reality check. No wonder your OH sounds a little - um - unassertive in your posts, he must have spent his entire life being told what to think.

Anyway, splats are snoring, fed, clipped dead leaves and topped up Morris & the Munchers in their tank, I've done my Rolf Harris/Doctor Doolittle bit on stoopid's head again and I have Minion off for two weeks-ish with her father, depending on when she can persuade him to let her come home.

Yes, KH. Now I know some people got rather upset at the 'man bashing' that was going on. Even though I think that it wasn't that they were men that was the problem, it was that they were people being idiots that most of us were complaining about. But at the moment, I really couldn't give two hoots if someone gets in a coniption over their own man/ex man when I'm talking about the one that is bothering me.

Minion's urgent physio appointment came through for two weeks' time. She is expecting to still be at KH's then. She didn't want to tell him anything about the hospital, but wanted to go to the appointment, even if she had to catch the bus back from his house herself. So I had to speak to him.

    This involved;

    1. Telling him she has been confirmed as having scoliosis.
    2. Explaining what the big fancy word meant.
    3. Drawing my fingers down his back to show him exactly what on hers is twisted and how far.
    4. Saying that, because of the danger this poses, they have said that she shouldn't do bouncing-around things, but can swim.
    5. Saying that she has a physio appointment and would they be around or on holiday, so I know whether to rebook it or not.

    His replies consisted of

    1. What does she need physio for. (Um, the scoliosis?)
    2. Why would she need it when all she has to do is get off the sofa and stop watching TV. (Because it's not the TV that caused it)
    3. All kids have that because they don't carry their bags properly. (No they don't, they slouch, but their spines are not crooked)
    4. If she doesn't do things, she will become weak and her back will ever get better (it's just changing what she does)
    5. She'll grow out of it (no she won't - it will get worse and then she might need to wear a brace)

    6. Well, she won't be doing that. She's not going to be a cripple. She'll grow out of it, and I'm not having her in a brace.

(If she needs one but doesn't have one, she could end up having her spine broken and set with metal rods)

    7. No, she won't. She'll just have to learn to live with it. There is no way she is going to have anything done.
    8. So cancel the appointment. She isn't going anywhere near that hospital.

Words fail me. I know he refuses to accept that anything could contradict his world view, but to say that he would rather she had a progressively more deformed spine and constant pain than have treatment?

I will wait and see, as I think this one could kick off big time. Minion didn't look happy at all with him, and she knows what bus to catch to come home. It wouldn't surprise me if she comes back early, especially as the holiday seems to consist of him going offroading and constantly bouncing a Rangerover up and down mud tracks and compressing her spine 10 times a minute.

Ah, balls to him. If she needs treatment that his Great Masterful Deityness forbids, he can try and take me to court to prevent it. I'd like to see him try.

    *********************

On a nicer note, I have got a full bin bag of clothes that don't fit her out of her room. They will be going to the charity shop tomorrow as she can't see what I'm up to.

I have also put up her tiger pictures properly and will probably gut the room and rearrange it before she comes back. I think she needs some form of bedside table, which would be nice in gold or mirrored, a lamp and some long dark purple/black curtains for winter. I will also be on the lookout for tiger/leopard print bedlinen for her, just to keep in with the teenage tackiness.

Replacing her mattress will have to wait until the physio is in progress, as what is comfortable now might not be in three months.

I must muck out the splats tomorrow morning, get the load in the machine full up with darks and set off, and make my bed again. But I'm going to pop into some of the bedding shops to see what I can see first.

    *************

Or then again - perhaps I will have a pedicure for the first time ever. There are enough salons round here.

Does anyone have any suggestions for what to get done? I'm a bit vague but I seem to remember something about gel nail varnish that lasts a long time. And whether I should stick to French polish first time round, or go for something a bit more rock chick/dark glittery shaded.

These are the kind of christians that put me off going to church..

The forgiveness, acceptance and charity is only allowed when it is forgiving themselves.

He has enough to deal with and that can keep his mind focussed until they grow up and stop being so unchristian!

Maybe we should all pray they can find peace with themselves for putting their son through this when he needs theirs support more than ever.
what a nic idea :) I'm tempted to tell him ... (actually, I was tempted to tell him to tell them where they could stick their prayers but then thought it might be good for them)
Hope that you get things sorted asap, Greenbee - and that those idiot inlaws get a reality check. No wonder your OH sounds a little - um - unassertive in your posts, he must have spent his entire life being told what to think.
yep... Drives me nuts, but I keep telling him I'm not about take on the job of bossing him around (his ex did, probably because she got fed up with him procrastinating... I have a lot of sympathy for her as I can see how they got to where they are).

I have a request for you all, and I know we've been here before , but if anyone is putting off going to the doctor (even if they think they are probably worrying about nothing) or is overdue for a smear test, please out it and the top of your frog list and deal with it first thing on Monday.

Words fail me. I know he refuses to accept that anything could contradict his world view, but to say that he would rather she had a progressively more deformed spine and constant pain than have treatment?
I don't suppose he'd listen to the professionals if he took her to her appointment would he? I suspect not, but it might be worth a try... And TBH I think its a pity he can't think of q few other things to do with his daughteer during her holidays as it doesn't sound much fun for her.

Nail polish on toes tends to last a long time anyway (much longer than on hands) and dark colours work really well. I use purple, blue, orange, green... Whatever takes my fancy, and I'm much more adventurous with toenails than fingernails so go for it.

Which reminds me... I have toenail varnish to remove before Monday's hospital appointment.

    Morning All

Hugs greenbee - hope you get sorted out this time - I could bring the kids down to harass you - would that help?

Not sure what the plan is for today but DH is going over to my grandma's to do some prep for some work he's doing over there in a couple of weeks. There's an open day at the leisure centre so we may go there.

WM is on, the house is a tip and I have an ironing mountain. However school holidays have started so hopefully I'll manage to get some things done.

    Have a good day all

    Morning lovelies!

Jojo He should be wanting what's best for her and tbh you don't need his approval/permission anyway, he doesn't live you and minion, so you have final say. xx

Greenbee What a family! This is where I have issues with some Christians, who aren't really christians in the true sense, weird outlooks and forgiveness only when they deem the person fit for forgiveness *shudders* *huggles* xx

Was at the shop at 6.55 as my lighter broke  can't be having that lol I got matches because they had no lighters tho....!!!!!!? :D Got work 9- 3 today *groan* It's been littleys leavers week this week so had to juggle jobs to fit in all the assemblies etc, it's been a bit emotional as it's the end of a 25 yr era for me, no more offspring at primary school *sniffs* but got GD and nephews little plays etc to go to :j

Been shifitng and lifting stuff about this week too, it's been rather hectic now I've sat down and thought about it, my new 4 hr job is still making me ache unbelievably so may have to think about that one closer, I usually give them 4 weeks to settle down and find my rhythm but it's full pelt 4 hrs and can't think of a way to get it down into chunks.

House is upside down, had to scrape littleys bedroom floor into bin bags the other night cos OH pipes up that he's taking her cabin bed down and replacing it with a double bed that is in his way at his house, it was in the plans but I could have done without it inbetween ferrying littley to and from her Prom *tuts* so there's 7 large binbags of stuff in my room and some boxes, they're gonna be sorted one by one so a good fling will come out of it at least.

Need to do......pretty much everything today *yawn* and I've typed enough without typing out a list as long as your arm, anyway it's the weekend I don't have to :p

No Dusty this week? Heya Serena, AnW'smum :hello: if you're looking in xx

Second brew time, oh yes indeedy.

okay, i am making some very limited progress here. All but one of my half cupboards in the kitchen have been emptied, scrubbed and contents replaced. also have one drawer left to do. the other two that are normally filled with junk currently remain empty.

I still have loads of stuff out that needs to find a home or get chucked but i think i feel a bit more on track today than i did yesterday.

i have 3x WM to do and a load of dishes that are too big for my teeny tiny dishwasher.

I have identified numerous items that i will be storing in DH's loft soon. i need to hide them at my parents home for a while until his loft becomes available again and while i am at my parents home, i will be picking up my beloved pram that i am so excited about using again. :) really need to get cracking with it though as it will need a good wash when i get it back AND time to dry. but thats for tomorrow, not today.

Going thru the list in a bit with the kids and getting as much level 1 stuff done this weekend as poss.

Oh, and i have to draw up and send out a few quotes... never ends!!

Jojo... sending impotence and jock itch his way!!! with maybe a few scabies thrown in.. what her shortness wants is far more important.. he just does his to remind you why he is no longer part of your life.. My KH went arouns telling everyone I was 'forcing' Moomin to have growth hormone replacement and she didn't need it.. then he had to keep bringing her back for her daily injections because I refused to allow him to do them without training so he had to go speak to the endocrine nurse who gave him an ear full :D I'd be telling him if she doesn't have the brace/physio/intervention she WILL become a 'cripple' to use his eloquent phrase.. I'd ask him to come to an appointment or 2 as well.. let him battle it out with the consultants.. then do as you like anyway lol. He wouldn't come though because he knows you are right.

Highchair scrubbed ready to fling.. might try netums first actually..
Last ebay parcel packaged.. OH posting shortly.
    Squeak fed and watered
    DW done.. full of pans!
    WM x2
    2 loads on the line
    TD filled with undies again!
    composting and recycling out
kitchen swept (squeak threw shreddies all over the place and last night peas!)

Off to hang out the next 2 loads of washing, bath and deflea the girls.. 1 is done. Squeak needs a bath but OH can do that too.

Sink and dish cloths marinating in bleach :D I'll wash the worksurfaces and units when the water is cool enough to put my hands in!

I think I've had a sudden burst of energy. One load of washing is on the line and two others are lined up for the machine. I've had someone round who is going to take on the garden maintenance and help me get the garden finished and also do some indoor jobs.

Ther is SO much I need to get done before I go into hospital:

    Car insurance
    Meter readings
    Filing and paperwork
    Order washing line and pole
    Lots of tidying
    Plant two plants
    Feed plants
    Get cash
    Buy loo paper, bleach etc
Sort out freezers and meal plan
    Clean the Hoover
    Change sheets
    Ironing
    Buy bathroom tiles
    Make amendments to two presentations
Make final amendments to one paper
    Finish two other presentations
Order bathroom cabinet (after drain has been checked on Monday) and mirror
    Write full list for Will
Find cleaner ... I'm going to need some help in the house

So first things first, off to the shops.... Need to bulk buy sanitary towels ready for the hospital :(

morning all. day 2 of no sleep for me. DS2 woke up on the wrong side of the bed today AGAIN!!! i really hate the terrible 2s! he is riduculously happy just now but for how long is anyones guess!

i think one of my mates is coming round tonight for a takeaway and to keep my company. not liking being at home alone just now and she was planning on coming round anyway but in her very hungover state i think she needs as much grease and stodge as possible haha.

i really really need to get hold of someone who can fit chain locks to my doors today! another mate was meant to do it for me yesterday but when i text him after i bought them he never replied! someone else can do it for me but he is on holiday till monday and i really wanted them up last night. if only i had an electric drill i would have done it myself but its one of the few tools i dont have.

its baltic here again so its out with the jumpers and big jackets  its july!!!
