If I ask the name on the booking(s) when I talk to my credit card company again, do you think that they will give me them to forward on to the agents, or do you think that even though the card was used fraudulently, they will not divulge that information?
Why on earth don't you just call them and ask???
Suirely any sensible person would just make the phone call and ask rather than spend days arguing on a forum.

I personally do not think they willl give you the details.
If it's not your booking then it's against the Data Protection Act to give you details from another booking.
They may be able to help the travel agents direct as part of the investigation but as an individual you are not entitled to information from another persons booking.
If they've agreed it's fraud (unknown) then they will go through the proper channels but not give it out to individuals.

Yes I do have some professional experience and knowledge of the DPA but each companies policy and employees MAY have a slightly different understanding.
Hence the only way you are going to know is to ASK YOUR BANK.
All the professional experience in the world won't help you here if you get an employee that either slips up or you get a jobsworth.

My feeling is however a resournding NO.

I need the details to give to the travel agent's. Simple , thats all I want. All I frickin' wanted was to be told if I would be allowed access to the information damn it.

Then your answer is a big fat NO - you will not get that information no matter what.

Did you get any names that were put on a delivery address/billing address though?

This is an entirely different situation though.
If items are purchase on YOUR account (as in this case) then of course you can have all the info.
If it's a different account (as it sounds like in your case) then you won't get the details.
So for example it's not your O2 account.
  • That case was slightly different, as it was your name used...and you called up so they would probably be more likely to tell you the name etc... same with the driving test.

What I'm wondering, In your opinion, reading what you have read and from personal experience. If I ask the name on the booking(s) when I talk to my credit card company again, do you think that they will give me them to forward on to the agents, or do you think that even though the card was used fraudulently, they will not divulge that information?

    Thanks,

To be honest, I don't know. I think you'd have to ask them.

If you have to resort to that - no wonder they won't tell you anything !
