  • What do you mean you got your own name? :S

The CC used fraudulently was in my name, and that was the name used when the card was used to purchase the goods, which I think was the question asked. I don't know how they got the details but I was fortunate to notice the item as I check all my acconts online every morning at about 7am and every evening at about 10pm, and I noticed the item immediately as I had stopped using that particular company about three months prior and had closed my account.

How did you manage to get the name of who was using it etc?

Why bother asking on a free forum if you won't believe anyone until they show you their certificates.
If you aren't going to believe the answers why bother asking?
    You're jsut wasting everyone's time.

Anyone hacking your data off the internal system would have your postcode.

Yes. but so could anyone hacking the internal system.
Just because they could have done it, does not constitute proof or anywhere close.

So you managed to get a travel agents at 6pm on a Sunday (yeah right) big troll alert, but can't get information from your own bank about your question?
    Have you aksed them yet?
Please tell us what they have said.

Your only reason to do this is to personally profit from it???

Excuse me, I'm in contact with the regional sales manager? I think it's serious enough to have their mobile number for developments, considering the agent that I go to opens until 6pm on a sunday then I think you'll find I'm correct. Unless you want her to speak to you , do you? Who on earth said I couldn't get anything from my bank? :S
I am simply asking questions here, seriously. I LOVE how you also think you know me, sorry but LOL @ THAT. Profit from it? Oh my, you couldn't be more wrong.

It's not internal, I've had this credit card for 5 years, I've used it THREE times in that whole time. I doubt it. The DAY AFTER I use it in a travel agents and my card is used fraudulently.

I don't want anyone's certificates shown to me, I just don't want people wasting MY time infact giving me answers that aren't correct. Simple as.

Oh my :| Shut up please.
It's not suspicious, you're just trying to make a big thing out of something. You really are. Suspicious? That's again, laughable. I spoke to the bank yes, not that you'd know what I've said or asked or even who I've spoken to so HOW can you say that I cannot ask here?

If you've got nothing to say, don't bother replying. I don't expect them to give their real names and addresses, do you not get it. I EXPECT to be given some name that I can then give to the travel agent store manager, if it matches with an employee then great, get them fired, if not (and it is them using a different name) then fair enough , they've beaten the system until the next time. If it is not altogether then whatever. At least that is it cleared.

I NEVER ASKED for compensation. I WAS OFFERED it, if I could prove who it was. I'm not one of these people that just sits back and lets someone do that, be it my money or not.

I'm not wasting anyone's time.I actually HOPED for someone that worked for a bank to answer me properly.

    My motives? God you're hilarious.

Why on earth would I not get the details?

I simply rang the company concerned, told them my CC bill had an entry I didn't know anything about, and what was it about. They told me straight away what it was for, what time it was ordered, who ordered it (me, apparently) - after all, they'd hardly put through an order on the card of a Mr Smith if the bloke ordering said he was called Mr Jones, would they?

It was a straight forward card clone, nothing more, and was resolved by cancelling the card immediately and issuing a new one.

What I meant was that wasn't there a data protection issue in telling you who actually ordered the item(s) etc...

It wouldn't be the same I think for something like a flight booking, they wouldn't say who's on the booking would they?

No data protection issue arose, as everything was in my name and I had had previous dealings with the company concerned so they could bring up all my details.

It would be just the same as ringing up any company, querying an order. If they know you, and you are entitled to the info, you will get the info. For example, I once used my credit card to pay for a driving test for my son. I forgot all about it, and when it appeared on my statement I rang the CC company and asked what it was and they told me all the details. I was rather embarrased when they told me!

That case was slightly different, as it was your name used...and you called up so they would probably be more likely to tell you the name etc... same with the driving test.

What I'm wondering, In your opinion, reading what you have read and from personal experience. If I ask the name on the booking(s) when I talk to my credit card company again, do you think that they will give me them to forward on to the agents, or do you think that even though the card was used fraudulently, they will not divulge that information?

    Thanks,

    Meaning what? :S

Just why would you wish to be compensated and for what ??

You have suffered no financial loss.
Any financial loss belongs to the merchant and/or the card issuer.

You seem to be making a huge mountain out of a mole hill.

    IT 'AINT YOUR PROBLEM !!!!!
