So glad I did that course at the local college - I submitted some CVs last week and one agency has gotten back to me as they are recruiting an office manager for a Birmingham based client - it seems that I have made the long list prior to shortlisting and to expect a call from them this week.

Just ordered £20 of Argos vouchers from Consumerpulse - this brings my voucher total to £50. The lawnmower that I am after at Argos costs £54.99 so it will cost me £4.99:cool: I am going to be patient because I want to see what the vendors leave behind..you never know they may just leave behind a lawnmower and if they do then I can get a freeview box if not..then its a lawnmower for me:cool:

If I can find a way to save money then I will:D

I might order it through a cashback site but as yet I haven't got that far. I will certainly be ordering my house and contents insurance via a cashback site.

I had a great night out last night - my 'free' meal, we had roast pork with trimmings followed by a lemon meringue roulade with strawberries followed by coffee and mints. I managed to raise £40 on the raffle too:D

I have been working on some words for my additional information for the union job - I kinda figured that my time as branch secretary of a major union would come in handy one day although I did not see any benefit at the time (when I needed help the union was nowhere to be seen:mad:)

Grrrrr...ruddy Topcashback...I cannot log in. I have my login and asked for a password reset (have done this twice now) and still Topcashback will not allow me to log in. I even tried to rejoin and got the message telling me that my email address had already been registered. What is going on with the site? It is really frustrating me today? I cannot even ask Topcashback because I have to be logged in....grrrrr

Hi, just in case this is the same thing, I had trouble but it was because I was trying to log in to topcashback. com instead of co.uk, just a thought -

Thanks Lelly it is definitely .co.uk that I am trying to log into. I keep getting the log in securely and enter my email address and password but it fails to log me in and I can end up trying several times without success.

I might have to rejoin but using a different email address which is a pain.

Also wondering if it is because I use Firefox as my browser instead of IE? I removed IE from my computer because it caused me an awful lot of problems.
  • Hi Horace

I have just tried to login to topcashback too and cannot get in. I know for a fact that my password is accurate so I think it must be a fault at their end.

Hopefully Topcashback will have fixed their fault - I shall check later.

Am starting to wonder if I will ever get a house:( I spoke to mum last night who has heard from her solicitor and now it would seem that the vendors are messing about. Mum had actually met all the executors when she was on a viewing and although two were a bit snippy one of them told her that the carpets were staying and that the combi boiler was two years' old. Now it seems that the main executors are being silly - the bath, taps and toilet are staying but the kitchen units will be ripped out unless mum pays extra for them. The carpets are not staying unless mum pays an additional £2K for them. The curtains are not staying (don't mind that as they are not very nice) but the curtain rails are, the light fittings are staying (we plan to change these anyway).

The waterbutt is staying as is the bin (ooh great, a dustbin that the council will refuse to empty because it is not a wheelie bin..note the scarcasm). The vendors are now stating that they do not know when the house was re-roofed, when it had double glazing fitted, when it was re-wired and when the house was purchased from the council:mad: One wonders if they want to sell the house at all:mad:

Mum has told the solicitor that the offer was also made to include the carpets, kitchen units etc and that she had made an offer for the spare bed (nearly new) and the white goods as well as the sideboard (I am not too bothered by the sideboard as I can easily pick up a bargain in a charity shop and restore it myself). Mum has instructed the solicitor to tell the vendors this and if they start messing about then she will withdraw from the sale. This will inconvenience the vendor who will have to pay more solicitor costs and put the house up for sale again. It is a buyers' market and the vendors must be mad when there is a cash sale in the offing with no chain.

In other news mum drove herself to Tatco and Sainsbugs in Redditch - I am so pleased that she is getting her confidence back because without the car she would be isolated.
