I was in Aldi this morning - seems they are looking for Store Assistants, a Stock person and a Deputy Manager - I might ask about the jobs. There is even a job going at the local net curtain shop - not sure if retail is really my bag though.

Whilst mooching about I did mooch in the Heart Foundation shop and espied a few things..now why do I see lovely wardrobes when I don't actually need any? Why couldn't I see wardrobes when I was looking for one and had to buy new? I saw a rather nice fridge too but as soon as I opened the door the stink hit me..needless to say I shut the door rather quickly. I was also eyeing up Panasonic tvs at £35 each - the one I saw is far better than the one I have now.

Picked up an Argos catalogue, got my Stardrops in Home Bargains too - walked there and back.

    Watched the rugby...Wales..Wales..Wales

Spoke to mum on the phone - I told her that I wouldnt be going around tomorrow because I have a cough that comes and goes and I would rather not pass it on to either of them. She told me that the lump dad had removed from his head earlier this year wasn't a cyst but a huge wart - must admit it was the biggest wart I had ever seen as it was bigger than a 50p piece and about half an inch tall:eek: Mum has asked me to look at ceiling lights for the living room - I went online and looked at BHS and B&Q and have spotted some lovely ones (I need two) for £9.98 each..looks like extra expense for me:eek: I never thought about lights - all I know is that I do not want halogens as I hate them, they are also expensive. My flat has halogen bulbs everwhere (except the bathroom) and when they pop I don't bother replacing them as they seem to pop every 5 minutes.

I have found a source of boxes too - Aldi...:D

Spoke to mum this evening to tell her about the lightfitting that I had seen at B&Q to be told that she didnt see any that she liked there and preferred BHS - I did look at BHS and kinda ruled them out as they were too expensive for me. Mum told me which ones that she liked so I had a look and agree with her choice - there is one light fitting called Allium which looks like allium flowers and takes G4 halogen bulbs - now I already use G4s in my Teasel lamp and prefer these to the horrid common halogens which pop every 5 minutes. Mum and I are going to town to have a look at the light fittings which will then be ordered online and my parents will pay for them:j There was me thinking that I would have to buy them.

Gawd, I hate being skint..my credit rating has been shot to pieces no doubt..all because I was honest and told various credit cards when I realised that I was struggling. This year, I have to get a job - I want one that is nice, where I don't have too much stress, that will pay me a wage so that I can start saving (my credit union account only has £136 in it..with about £18 in £2 coins to go in). I cannot believe that I was stupid enough to spend my rainy day money:(

I didnt see my parents this weekend because I have the sniffs and an irritating cough that comes and goes - the kind of cough that once you start you cannot stop and you start to choke because you cannot breathe:( I don't want to pass those germs on.

Nipped to corner shop earlier for some milk - I felt guilty treating myself to a newspaper - this is the first Sunday paper that I have bought since May:eek: Had a bit of a wander in the sunshine and did spend some time watching the tree surgeons attending to the trees along the central reservation - most of them had a hair cut with branches being removed..it was funny watching the men swinging in the trees like apes.

I am at college again tomorrow where I will learn how to conduct a job search..I think I could teach them a thing or two. Tomorrow afternoon I will tackle the applications for two jobs that I saw advertised at a local university this morning - one is a 6 month contract and the other is permanent (this university is not the same one that treated me like dirt - I will never work for them again!).

hi Horace. It must be very hard to go on a course to learn something you already know how to do standing on your head. Good luck with that.

Are you in your new place yet? I hope you enjoy it very much.

Have you got to the point yet where 'any' job would be better than none? I am guessing that finding jobs of any sort over there is pretty hard, ie to actually land one. Hence my question.

Chev - I am not in my new place yet - negotiations are still ongoing and it is all in the hands of the solicitors. It could be about 5-6 weeks before it is all done and dusted. Must admit the vendors are greedy as they want £500 for the white goods which will all be second hand and out of warranty.

I reached the point of I will apply for any job months ago - I was told today that I was doing all the right things but I still picked up a few tips today and tomorrow I have to take a copy of my CV in. Must admit too that I have persuaded the tutor to set up a job club because that will be beneficial and that way we could get the support we need to find a job plus it makes sense as they are teaching us about applying for jobs. I have been told to dumb down my CV - I cannot dumb it down any more because there is no escaping the fact that I am intelligent:(

The divorce papers are submitted and I received my copy this morning - gawd knows what he will think about them because I have asked for a lump sum (I ticked that box) plus my solicitor chum advised me to note down that I had been locked out which I have been, however, I have tried to remain as amicable as possible. I just hope that he signs the papers and doesnt start messing about.

Must admit that I very nearly walked out of class today - I wasbeing taught how to write a covering letter and essentially I was told that all the letters I have ever written have been wrong and that I must conform to the modern way of doing things - in other words dumb everything right down even to the ending of the letter by saying Sincerely or Regards or just Yours. This tutor keeps saying that she is used to teaching adults and children but to be honest I think her skills are more suited to 16 year olds than adults. My homework is to produce a covering letter - I tend to write these and tailor them to the job for which I am applying so now I have to think because to be honest I don't want a super critical, uneducated eye looking over it:mad:

I did get some useful CV tips, however and I am re-writing my CV accordingly.

Not too happy either because the course materials are not being printed on yellow paper as I had asked - it was fine last week but this week I am given things on white paper and when I make comment or ask about the yellow paper, I get huffs and then I am made to feel like an inconvenience so in the end I say that I will accept the documents on white paper even though it causes me difficulty in reading them clearly.

Horace...breathe....you only have one more day of the course and you will be rid of this dreadful tutor.

Agreed - remind them about the Disability and Equality Act and point out to them that it doesn't help encourage you in your job hunt to be reminded how unaccommodating people are when it comes to disabilities, and how little regard they pay to legislation.

No yellow paper issues today - no handouts. I nearly had a melt down as I went into a panic when we were asked to interview each other, I very nearly walked out. Looking back it seems nonsensical but at the time I started to feel quite anxious. I had a mock interview this afternoon which I sailed through so I really don't know why I keep beating myself up..bah!

I had a lovely letter from one of the jobs that I had applied for - even though it was a knockback letter, actually I am quite pleased because I didn't really want the trip to Droitwich every day.:D
