Sorry folks only just logged on.

My afternoon with Millie was fab - she kindly collected me from my place and we headed off to the Yard. We let the ponies out - one tried to take a bit out of my jacket but she could probably smell horse on me:eek: I was taken to the prime spots for picking blackberries and sloes, however, I made a start on the sloes and the heavens opened so if Millie had been looking she would have seen me squashing myself into the hedge:eek: I ended up wearing blackberries on my jacket but ended up with a pot of sloes.

Millie came to join me after doing some mucking out and after picking sloes she went back to take the horses in and put the kettle on. After 10 mins or so I followed her back and we had tea and cake (leftover cake was given to me to take home).

This morning I went to Aldi to get two bottles of cheap vodka (Millie is making Sloe Gin) and then I stood in the kitchen pricking sloes with a fork and dividing them between two water bottles (there is about a pound in each bottle) which I then put in 4oz of granulated sugar followed by a bottle of vodka in each. Must remember to shake the mixture every day for two weeks until the sugar has dissolved then I don't need to shake the bottle as much.

This morning, I picked my first tomato from my plants as they have started ripening.

Need to scan some bank statements but scanner has been playing up:mad:

Yes, it was so fab to meet you, you are lovely. Apologies for madam trying to take a chunk out of you, I would say it's soooo not like her, but it is :) and at her ripe old age, I doubt she is going to change :)

Never let it be said that you are a fair weather person :) I just remember looking out of the window and seeing a red rug woosh across the field as Pen made a run for the trees and kept expecting you to appear over the hill

Must do it again :) Shame I don't have anything rideable at the moment, flipping sicknote horses!!

I bet your mum was relieved to see you Millie - she was probably fretting that I was a mad axe murderer or something:eek:

I am used to cantankerous beasts - I know that as I get older I become more intolerant and certainly less agile:eek: I didnt dare try and !!!! my leg over the fence, it was easier to crawl underneath:rotfl:

No I did not eat all the cake, I saved some for today (I didnt have any tea last night). Tonight will be quiche that I shall be making myself (except for the pastry as it is a pre-made case).

I also know what to do with the sloes when they have given up their goodness, when the vodka is ready and filtered through a muslin cloth (I need to get one of them), then I shall stone the sloes and dip them in melted chocolate thus forming some yummy liqueur chocs:cool:

I have made a start on looking for my old travel journal which contains the receipe for Avalanche Tart.

Talking of food, I had better go and put the gubbins together to make this quiche:D

oh botheration I am not allowed to use the word c o c k - the forum thinks it is a swear word when in fact it can be used instead to say you can climb something or you are a male chicken:eek:

I made a quiche this evening or it would have been a quiche if I had remembered to put in the cheese, so instead it was a bacon and egg pie with sliced tomatoes on top. All bacon now cooked although I do think some of it was on the turn as it had a strange taste and sniff.

Dunno what I have done to my scanner as the statements refuse to scan, so I will have to phone amex tomorrow and ask to send them by post:mad:

Need to pay my visa card and my virgin card, both of which will be paid late. I need to pay some money for the visa card because I want to be able to buy another skype licence as my licence expires tomorrow. I have letters to type and send, jobs to apply for, I am also wondering if I dare to contact the music festival peeps again because it has now been been nearly 3 weeks since I attended for interview.

Hope everyone is having a great day. Hope you enjoyed your pricking Millie (or did you get your dad to do it?). As for doggy smells in the car, get some febreze on the seats and hang an air freshener in the car.

Managed to scan the documents and send them by post. Also paid my Virgin CC late - they had reduced the payment from £66 to £41. Need to pay my Visa card too as that is also late - I will pay £20 off that methinks and then I can use it to pay for a new skype licence. I need to make calls, send off creditor letters and continue cursing my situation.

I had a call yesterday from someone who wants to come networking but I am afraid I was still in holiday mode and wasnt my best. He emailed me wanting to know more - just don't know what I am doing with them yet, I know it is a way of making money however, I do not make enough money to my costs so I am stuck between a rock and a hard place at the moment.

    Counselling starts on Thursday:j

Nor can you talk about S!!!!horpe :rotfl: I keep mentioning this to people - sorry. It amuses me. Little things and all that.

Hope the counselling goes well, Horace.

Just spoken to accountant and explained that I get HMRC insurance cover as standard with the FSB. She has waived all interest on my bill because she knows that I am trying to find work and is grateful that I am staying in contact with her which is more than can be said for other clients of hers who are in the same situation.

In other news, I was reading my Chamber ENews today (I get this on a daily basis) and I spotted that one of my chums who has her own VA business is looking to take on high calibre freelance secretaries to help with the workload, my CV has been sent and I called her too (although she was in a client's and couldnt chat), she is calling me tomorrow so I may well have some freelance work from her although I am not counting my cockerels:rotfl: (chickens...I just wanted to see if they would allow the word co ckerels)

I have been putting feelers out on LinkedIn too - now I put myself forward for a telemarketer thing but I know the person running the company is rather particular so there is nothing going there, however, someone else has spotted my plea and is passing my details onto a dept in their firm because they are looking for freelance lead generators.

I even got approached by someone in the US of A, however, as my skype licence expires today and I do not have the funds to buy a new one, then that will have to fall by the wayside. Anyway I am wary of someone who runs their own radio show telling people how they can make $8000 a day:eek:

Talking of LinkedIn, I connected with someone today who used to be the Marketing Manager of Warwick Med School, I am applying for the job of Marketing & Events Officer so I shall ask her for some pointers..there is nothing like a bit of inside knowledge:rotfl:

Currently £202 over drawn today but cannot draw on the money as only £2 available to draw on and I need to pay my Visa bill which is late:eek: If I can pay that then I can buy a new skype licence.

Millie, how is your gin getting along? My vodka is turning a shade of pink but then I am shaking the bottles more than once a day:rotfl: I did discover that it could be drinkable after 3 weeks, however, I shall resist temptation and leave it until Christmas.
