Hurrah, I have now sent the letter with CV. I have included my love of cars and motorsport as well as building my own kit car. I have mentioned times when I was a public relations officer for a motorbike club having to negotiate with dealers to ensure that our point of sale marketing materials were displayed in their showrooms and negotiating with the dealers to offer free membership of the club every time they sold a bike. Also mentioned was the stand design, logistics etc of exhibitions when I worked in the leisure industry for a major supplier of leisure products.

It has taken me a while to write the letter and it has been fiddled with until I felt that it was right..it has gone now so fingers crossed.

Will be having a break for a while and then I will be hitting the phones and the keyboard again. I have received a standard response from Office Angels, however, I will phone them tomorrow if they haven't contacted me.

Good luck with the application, Horace. Did that home-working job appeal that Satchmo pointed out?

Some progress made today, although I am mourning the loss of my Amex card, they have agreed to reduce my interest to zero and put me on the regain programme where I can pay a pound a month or more if I can afford it until the balance is cleared. I would have to re-apply for an Amex card..it is quite sad because I have had the card since 2003 - if only I wasnt too proud to tell my mum when she offered to pay off the card and instead I told her that I paid it off in full each month:( I will have a default notice but I am to ignore it - if only I could have afforded the £36 a month under their care programme then I could have had the card back...sob. (stiffen up Horace..it is only a flipping card:mad:)

I did look at the job that Satchmo found but felt that at it was working with the youth of our society that it really wasnt for me - I do not know how to relate to such people. The MG application has been acknowledged although they confused me by saying that I should have put a job number on there yet there was no job number listed against the vacancy.

Am trying to get hold of Virgin Money but they are too busy to take calls:mad:

Don't know what to do about my roadside assistance with HMCA as it is up for renewal in September and the fee has gone up to £9.81 a month but I do get home start with that (this is necessary for me esp. during the winter) and I have used them.

ooooohhh...I have an interview at an agency on Thursday morning (must take passport and proof of my National Insurance Number). This afternoon, I decided to look on the Jobcentreplus website and came across a job advertised by Hays so I applied but then I decided to look at Hay's website and found a part time 15hr PA/Office Manager job which would suit me down to the ground - it is in Wellesbourne which is a bit of a trek (down nr Stratford) and the salary is £27500 pro rata (what that would be in English money I don't know:o). I rang up the person who was looking after the job and was told that she was in Birmingham so I rang the Birmingham office and she has agreed to see me on Thursday morning (bang goes that £5 because i will need £3.50 for the bus - so even less petrol money than before - oh gosh, remembered that I have tiddlers to change at bank which will net me £3). Anyway, it is a start and I am excited by it..at last someone who thinks I am capable:D

The job I went for in Worcester which was hellish has told me that my services are not required - that is ok, I didnt want to work for them anyway and now they will get the applicant they deserve (I am too good for them:rotfl:).

Wouldnt it be mad if I got this job and then told Amex that I can pay my bill after all although it is probably too late now:(

Excellent news, Horace. Good on ya!

What's the working week in the UK? I'm guessing 40 hours, so the pro rata annual income would be £10,300-ish.
