Went to see 'The Iron Lady' last night. As much of an insight into Alzheimer's / dementia as a reflection on the Thatcher years. I thought it was good, friends thought it was long and slow to get going.

I saw it last night as well. I thought Meryl Streep was fantastic. Her accent and mannerisms were nigh on perfect.

I enjoyed the chronological aspect to it - I was too young to remember the miner's strikes but remembered the poll tax riots, plus the in-house politics were interesting as well.

I didn't feel for the dementia side of things though. It just didn't sit right with me and I felt it would have been a better film without it TBH.

James saw Iron Lady last week and loved it, he was full of praise for Meryl Streep too....he says we need another Thatcher.

He knows it is not perfect and that there was a fair bit left out and it possibly didn't go in depth enough, but he enjoyed it nonetheless.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

My moaning would be related to the fact I am not in control of my life and have no date that I can see when I know I can plan to be free

I think a lot/the majority of people feel like this at the moment to be fair.
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

Yes, I felt like that a couple of years back.

Then I went & bought a place with 5 years hard labour attached! :o

I used to get SAD too, but now I live out in the fields that seems much less noticeable, although I'd rather be somewhere more sheltered. Now, instead of it being a time of lethargy, winter has become a 'busy' time, because there are jobs that may only be done in this narrow time frame.

....And I'm feeling positive, or I would be if I wasn't stuck in here working on my return to HMRC!

Good god sue! Do something quick!

We're still struggling to sort out the mess she left us in.
I still can't understand why she's seen as a raging success. She sold off state assets resulting in an income of £100bn, yet still presided over 2 recessions. How is that a success?

I am convinced that being in a windowless office, not seeing daylight etc is affecting me a lot.

I read your post & felt I'd love to live out in the fields. That said, I'm sure the grass is always greener...;)

I work in a very open plan building, that is basically a big glass box - we find it difficult to work in. In the summer you can see how nice it is outside and in the winter you can really feel the darkness coming in. It doesn't help that the main lighting is terrible and the desk lamps too bright!

Sounds like that old Private Eye spoof -I think they were called the Radical Liberals
    On a march, they're chanting:
What do we want? --GRADUAL CHANGE!
When do we want it? -- IN DUE COURSE! :D

    I've been Money Tipped!
It's beautiful light here. I went for an unnecessary stroll around e garden and felt a bit better while doing it and have had a glass of fakes etching that is not berocca but sort of like it, I think baron a is better. I've pulled some steak out of the freezer and beef for the weekend (iron rich meat overload' and will also take some iron ...I've been neglecting that.

Also, a book arrived in the post today (for anyone interested it's another Scarlett Thomas, this one is 'our tragic upniverse' ) so something to look forward to later today, or tonight, Lemonjelly avert your eyes, a
Overly hot bubbly bath and a new book, and then bed with the cats and more new book......almost perfect evening.
