Oooh, it never occurred to me you could just go for the day. Good for you, and have a nice swim.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Any NPs ever visited Milton Keynes? When I first came to England that was my nearest big town /city. A bigger grid pattern than Glasgow. It seemed to have some of the ideas Center Parcs uses.
Lots of greenerry and trees, can't see houses from the roads, no traffic lights, no TV aeriels, lots of cycle paths, all buildings low-rise, everything's in the middle of town, completely covered shopping in the centre, not many pubs.
I was impressed by a lot of it except the lack of facilities in the suburbs - made me think that Glasgow's planners had been hired for an extra projectThere is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

- a workmate went and said it was about 60% of the cost, but had less sporting facilities (but we don't use them much anyway)
I hope mate actually said, "fewer"?...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Interesting facts about Milton Keynes:
Local cars have characteristic wear to tyres and suspension due to all the roundabouts.
The 'red routes' walking / cycle paths are often shunned by the locals cos of anti-social behaviour.

I've been there quite a few times, but not lived there. I think it would be very difficult to live there without a car, eg for teenagers, as it's strung out over many miles. So, a teenager living on the outskirts would have his work cut out getting to CMK (sorry Central Milton Keynes) to see a film.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
