ah well, you see THAT is posh....I have an outdoor loo.0 -
Wow, I'm envious of those with that much space. We have the hallway (aka the dumping ground of coats, anything from outdoors, anything to be going out), the kitchen (anything from garden or going into the garden), the living room (which actually just has sofas and tv and stuff), the dining room (which has the current annual production of 18 gallons of cider, miscellany of hobby things and is the conservatory for growing stuff come feb/march).
The new coffee machine arrived and it works but one of the items (the filter holder) is not manufactured right. GRGHGHGHGH. Thankfully, the old one still hasn't been picked up so I will do a straight swap and this will be the end of it. You do think that when you buy a high end coffee machine, the manufacturing takes a bit more care?0 -

Apart from that, they have a kitchen, living room, sitting room, and dining room.
My parents still have an old fashioned pantry just off the kitchen although it holds all of their pots and pans and maybe a few veg rather than lots of food items.
Blooming cold in there no matter what time of year it is.
They have been thinking recently of knocking through on the pantry wall to the two rooms which are reached from outside to make a downstairs shower room and utility area.....mum is in two minds though as she really loves her pantry. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

Yes, we originally had a kitchen larder built on the north side of the house and vented into the eaves.
My FiL went in there early on and sorted out some shelving for us. When he emerged, he said, "And I've filled in that draughty gap near the ceiling!" :mad:0 -

How does the coffee taste? How many have you had this late in the day?
re space, atm there are boxes and junk all over the place so we have: the hallway, the landing junk room, the cot room junk room, the bedroom junk rooms etc etc.
space is a huge luxury, I do not undestimate it.
Having said we'd stay here for ever unless the right opportunity arose dh is saying he is thinking more about overseas again tonight. :(he's missing his family as well as feeling frustrated professionally ATM.0 -

sounds like what we have.OH is always shocked at how much I can fit in there. :rotfl: I would never give that up for anything. It's the best place in the world.

Good luck for you and OH, hope you both get a good compromise.
And coffee was good, I made a weak one for me but a proper one for OH and he's still zinging around the walls.0 -

I'm sad that the final plan we chose for the kitchen didn't include a larder. It gives us four or five feet more in th kitchen, and I till have space for a non walk in pantry in the utility, but still....alking larders/pantries are their own whole worlds.
