Outlook has some useful stuff re dealing with contacts and also with your calendar. For example, you can send someone an emailed invitation that, if they accept it, will mark both your and their calendars with an appointment. You can also have it so that your contacts in the phone and your outlook will synchronise. It means that you can have all your contacts in one place and backed up too as there is a copy on your phone and another on your PC.

It works for me, especially as someone else pays my software bill.

Absolutely. Although the invitation thing only works on exchange server (which I have at work), even with standalone outlook (which I have at home), you can drag an email to the calendar, enter date and time info, and have all the info from the email there in the calendar event. Or you can put people's birthdays in their contact details and they'll show up as recurring events on the calendar.

One good thing has come out of all this discussion anyway. I've downloaded a newer version of CompanionLink, and made DejaOffice check for updates. I'll dump a list of all my appointments somewhere in case it messes them up again, and see if I can regain my trust that it will do what it's supposed to do. If it did, I'd be perfectly happy with what I've got.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

urgh what a morning, its so GREY. ferals came in quickly for breakfast, and the chickens are staying close to home. I've been sorting out drawers and throwing stuff away this week, so my house looks terrible....in the way it gets worse before it gets better. It feels great to make time to sort through drawers oinstead of quickly stuffing stuff in.

I'm even going to get the filing cabinet reviewed before December at this rate.

Brilliant sunshine here. :D You're having what we had yesterday, and I know, 'cos I was both 'up there' and 'down yer.' ;)

Passed the site of the M5 crash on my way and there was nothing, except a few new bits of barrier, to indicate anything had happened there a week before.

It was a beautiful day here. I spent the afternoon stripping down my bicycle and cleaning all the grit out of the bearings.

Off on a bush walk tomorrow am followed by more bike repair.

No housework done, but two fairly overdue things that needed cutting back in the garden are cut back. And I'll have a bonfire this dreary afternoon. I picked a few roses from the garden this morning and the smell of them in my sitting room is unbelievably heavenly. They are different sorts, and one sort smells quite spicey and the other smells almost geraniumy aswell as rosey, so it smells like fresh turkish delight....then having cut green stuff outside it also smells grassy. I love nice smells. :)

Just had my eyebrows and upper lip threaded. Whoever said it doesn't hurt much was lying. It stings.

But at least it's better than waxing and less trouble than trying to pluck.

I use gmail for personal stuff as the search fuction is ace. Diary is in my head (I can always juggle things around) and use an exchange server for work (but I don't use outlook calendar).

I'm off for 2 weeks from today, please don't break the boards peeps.

I only had that done once a few weeks ago (eyebrow only). I was I impressed with the shape but since then I've had the occasional twitch in the eyebrow, so I'm not repeating.

Isaac helped me this morning, while OH went off to let the bed-installers in to the new place. Then he came back and took Isaac swimming, because it takes twice as long with Isaac helping as it does if I get on with it.
