I had a lot of respect for Carol. She would bat off the HPI loony bulls and often they were down right insulting. Bright lady and a great debater imho.

When it comes to debators, the more the better I say - but then I am all in favour of mass debation.
    I think....

NDG, like many here, you are a star. Have a tear in my eye for this wonderful welcome and support. Bless you all. As for your invitation to pm you I will most humbly take you up on that.

Nothing at all for you to be humble or tearful about.

I don't do employment law, but my OH does.

To be honest, I am less worried about the cash than seeing some form of justice. The company treat their staff in a bad way. Area of high unemployment so even the minimum wage for decent accounting staff.

Health and safety would have a field day. The boss keeps his dog in an open office and the dog does his business all over the floor. That is only a small part. Not even sure that the fork lift drivers are qualified . They drive like they are contestants in Death Race 2000. A lot more than that.

I take on board that I did continue to work for them after they did the dirty. Still, the winds of a bad time economically. in my mind, were already blowing and who is going to give a job to a 56 year old easily.

I was really miffed and told them so, that a few months earlier I was head hunted by a company. Great basic salary, commission, Audi A6, and about £80 a night for an hotel and meal. I was truly flattered but turned it down due the fact that I was loyal to that shower.

Interestingly enough, most of my customers have walked away since I left. They don`t like the dumb sales office people who are often rude and unhelpful.

For instance, a couple of weeks ago one of my customers called me up to say that they had tried to order an item that we have about 30 odd different models of only to be told that we don`t stock them.

No not the money. Funnily enough I did run through my mind what I would spend it on and came up only with a few new bits for my computer, lol. I can`t drive now and I have a economical car that my wife drives. We live a simple life.

If I do win then my wifes sister will have the best lawyer to screw over my cheating, lying brother in law. Yet that is another story.

Once again my dears, thanks for making my return really warm. I am touched. (Apart from being touched in the head, lol ).

Quick question, does my old mates FC and Carol T still tip up here?

 By total coincidence, I popped in tonight but haven't managed to catch up on anything here as ended up reading the John Himphreys thread.
I kind of got the jist that Lydia isn't well? Kind of overload after the past 2 years? If I got it wrong I apologise but hope LJ is feeling ok.

Good news about the agency law too Pobby.

FC Towers has had an insane workload and super mega stress with factory problems. Sadly, the factory I started with, one of the partners got cancer and the other owner just can't cope.
Whilst I have much sympathy for the situation, has been a massive disaster for us as they delivered a bulk of new season 4 weeks late...so late we had a lot of orders cancelled on this part of the range.

How is everyone else? What's the gossip?:)

Fashion Land is tricky this season due to the warm weather affecting sales (not us directly as I don't do woollies and stuff) but it affects us indirectly as some stores have had to reduced their budgets as they are over stocked with heavy clothing.

I will pop by tomo and try to catch up on at aleast 10 pages :)

carolt always drew what was as far as I could see an unnecessary degree of venom....the treatment of her often said more about the people doling it ot than her IMO.

I too think she was wrong, in that instance, and actually, in many areas we had very different opinions, but I still admired her strength of argument and reasoning.

I didn't exactly cover myself in glory during that episode. Unfortunately for carolt, middle class welfare is something I despise and I am more than happy to argue the toss about it.

I found carolt very bright and interesting but firmly in the 'can give it but can't take it' category. If you're going to insult others then you can't really be thin skinned about taking insults.

I'm not really talking about that one episode, but the continued ongoing ickiness. I think its unfair to describe her as thin skinned, its as misplaced as suggesting, for example Hamish is. Some posters get a continued personalised onslaught, and Carolt was one of those. Personally, I would have gone LONG before that episode in her shoes as it was pretty unrelenting, and at times extremely misoginistic in tone and pretty offensive IMO.

Obviously, I have no idea how much of that was generated via PMs or whatever, but what was played on on open forum was very unpleasant....and again, I'm not talking about the incident that was the straw that broke that camels back but the day to day posting.

In any case, there doesn't seem much point on riddling fires of past disagreements. I know you and I didn't agree with ''that incident'' either. Despite me sharing your opinion on the middle class welfare situation.

FC - a quick tongue in cheek question - 'S' have announced they will have Primark franchises in some of their stores - doesn't that kind of devalue the brand?!
    I think....
