It is a known fact* that as you get older you become able to remember events that took place longer ago until eventually you become old enough to remember events that happened long before you were born (in my case in the 1970s) thus although I can't yet remember living through rationing and the blitz in a few years I probably will be able to.

With three kids (and a DW) though I do wake up in the morning feeling like I'm in my 60's and I do the 'old man sigh' when I find a bench to sit on after walking somewhere.

That sentence needs clarifying! I think Britain's always been at war (somewhere or other). And how do you "now" get to be old enough?

I was born during the Malayan, Cypriot, Aden wars but don't remember it! Grew up nice and safe in Britain. Do remember the Cold War though!

Maybe you mean WWII. A friend of mine became a dad at 61 (very brave of him). Did you start your family at a similar age?

    * Where known fact is known in the local ale house after a couple of pints when putting the world to rights.
    I think....

I find waking up in my 60s is much the same as it was when waking in my 40s. The only real difference is that it's me who chooses what I do, not the Man. :D

I am back after a terrible infection.....of the computer. Wish I could say I deserved it after visiting all those sex, gambling and file- sharing sites, but the fact is I still don't know where it came from.:(
The last thing I read before it went bonkers was that the French & Germans were having a bit of a problem agreeing on the Euro bale-out. Apparently, that's been patched-up too.

I don't remember the War, but I'm sure that without it I wouldn't be here, at least not in this form. :)

The first few times I drove after passing my test, I drove my mother's car with my mother.

The first time without a licenced driver, Mama made me take my (16 year old) sister with me. Eleanor nearly gave Mama a heart attack when we got back, as she said, "Those lights at the front aren't expensive, are they?"

The first time I drove after passing my test, I didn't actually realise it was my first time unattended until I was about a mile down the road (I was so excited to get in the car and go!). It saved me the usual "Arrggghhh, scary!" moment of setting off.

I was so proud of myself and drove to my parents house where mum went through panic mode that I had driven myself around with no-one else in the car and off she went to check the car for damage! :rotfl:

She need not have worried, I had been riding a motorcycle for the last 4 years (and yes, I have a full bike license) and was pretty immune to being a scary Mary on the road.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Interesting. All I can remember about fat is that it is excellent for something to do with electricity and nerves..because of the current down them....and obeseity of body doesn't necessarily relate to good fat insulation of nurones...

Crikey it really does huet thinking sometimes but trying to get that to make more sense....no....its not happening...sorry.

obviously you are not fat enough and your neurones are therefore not operating at optimal capacity, thus your brain is unable to deliver. cake is the obvious solution.

sadly, as I tried to sputter, body fat isn't necessarily associated with fat needed for optimal nervous system function. :o

i think i started doing that when i was about 25. these days, at 32, i seem to do it pretty much whenever i sit down, regardless of the circumstances.

If it doesn't work, you can send it back and there's not much the seller can do other than accept it. OK, its a hassle but if you're spending a lot of money it would be worth it!

Edited to add: So long as it doesn't mention that it is for spares etc in the advert (worth checking again in case the ad has been changed whilst it is listed)

it probably weighs about 40 kg and is collect only from a fair distance......it doesn't say spares, and the seller says its in working order, but an mse chum asked to and he said he's never used it to her...
plus, requires a professional to check it works and might not be able to arrange that for a few weeks at this time of year....

would any of that invalidate it....is it not buyer beware in this sort of situation?:o

edit: just checked...very little info in ad....it doesn't say spares/repair but it also doesn't actually say it works in the ad or working order or anything.
