My understanding of Silvercar's second post on the subject is that what she wants is to get the doctor to get a second opinion from another doctor without telling the patient.
Actually, there's no reason at all why a professional man can't seek advice from a colleague on a confidential basis. However, that's rather different to bundling up the notes and sending them over.
Silvercar, your best bet is to have a chat with your father's (?) current consultant, and ask him to contact the other people. However, I would urge you to reconsider whether it's right to do any of this behind dad's back. My short experience in the chemotherapy ward is that the patients are well-aware of their condition and very happy with any steps people may take to help them.
You said that your father thinks that his present treatment is entirely adequate. Is it possible that he's bluffing you, so you don't worry too much?No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

I would really like to get the kids a nice globe - anyone know where to find one for reasonable money?
don't know if its too late but I think its worth buying one that lights up. I loved mine and it encourages little people to take an interest in it. They usually are in smiths etc around christmas time...must be cheaper on ebay or amazon I guess!0 -
No, work related spends.
But just wondering how people get used to dealing with money in such large amounts without bothering them.
It's strange.
Dh deals with huge amounts. Once at his office he told me to circle all spends of OVER 200 million, because they ''counted'' I did tell him that the sub 200million spends added up to billions and they weren't worried. In that context it was ''not much''. I felt a bit sick. Its easy to understand how people dealing with money like that can't see the big deal in £5 coffee hits, even if thats £25-50 a week. I think it does create a disconnect.0 -
Trying to do anything but pack. I've packed three boxes of my own shoes, and I'm still surrounded by shoesEverything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Brussels was both great and not great. DH's flat (well, both the old one nad the new one) is great, but has a couple of issues which I can see why they really get him down. he has a super office....but doesn't count for much mood enhancing unless its your ego that needs boosting. I didn't get much of a sense of Brussels...too short a stay and hardly met any Belgians. Saw some of the European leaders, (as in walking into buildings, not for afternoon tea). saw lots of Tintin cars in a procession...and the premier crowds...(by accident was walking around there) and was really ill. I really like Eurostar, if I had known is was so comfy I would have used it way before now, its much better than cheap flights!! In fact, put the train journet between Lpondon and home into shocking contrast.0

Is that the same in Scotland? It must have been an important factor in the legal aspects of the Lockerbie incident.
I tried to ask about it online at a law website but there's a £20 charge!:eek:
No idea, sorry. It's one of the Common Law presumptions, which are all rebuttable.
Another is the presumption that a couple living together and apparently married are married in law....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

I've discovered of late how much I loathe packing....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
