I really like Eurostar, if I had known is was so comfy I would have used it way before now, its much better than cheap flights!! In fact, put the train journet between Lpondon and home into shocking contrast.

were you in standard class, or something better? i've not been in whatever the "premium" classes are called on eurostar, but i didn't feel that the standard was any better than the commuter trains i normally use (but it's definitely better than cheap flights - but then so is clawing out your own eyes with a blunt fork).

Last time we moved we swore we would never do it again - now with the house nearly finished I find myself looking at the detached house for sale down the road and thinking there might be a 100k profit in buying it and extending and that may be I should be getting the agents round to value the current house...
    I think....

Your commuter trains must be lovely!! Its a lot nicer than either of the trains that come this away.....and I got a seat :D I was in standard premier I think, not business. :) In fact I got the impression that the standard premier was just the same as standard but with a small tray of food (hence not really worth much to me) Lovely magazines, hot drinks offered several times, a little bottle of wine on the way out... dh thought it gave faster check in and shorter security lines, but that's for business premier only , (he wanted to avoid me arriving knackered and I decided against taking a walking stick because didn't feel I needed it..) and standard premier goes through the normal of everything...but it was all pretty swift and painless anyway. :)

I've discovered of late how much I loathe packing.

Yes. My talent is just staring at it all.

H really has done most of everything. I don't mind unpacking, cleaning everything, putting it in place but packing it up I can barely bring myself to do. Especially when I'm left with random stuff that isn't big enough to fit in a box that has it's own category. It really messes with my head - it must be a kind of OCD.

    Are you moved yet?

I'm going to challenge myself to at least finish my bedroom alone.

We once travelled out standard and back business due to seat availability. Business has food provided and better check in. From memory, business has wider and comfier seats. Possibly 2-1, with standard 3-1.

yes, I'm sure...there is a difference between standard and business, but is there a difference between standard and standard premier?

I pack by room not just catagory...so, for example, pillows could go in the same box as the clothes going in that room. So could alarm clocks or bedside lamps or whatever, when you are on the last odds and ends boxes. A 3/4 full box is fine, easy yo carry and unpack and much less inconvienant than a mixed room box. Mixing some stuff up though is useful: a box of books is too heavy, a box half full of books with throw cushions from the same room, or at least the same floor of the house, is carryable. :)

I always thought I hated packing, turns out I hate moving stuff around a house you are staying in more. We emptied our ''junk room'' which was to be the utility room and now is going to be a boiler room when dh was home. It took a whole day. We have to start with the other rooms on that side of the house soon too. suddenly the house feels really small, especially with the kitchen conten all piled up in the dining room because of the collapsing wall (had polanned to use dining room to store in...) and the hedgehogs taking up room.

Our telephoning saga stepped up a gear as gmail etc has now been blocked too with an argument they impinge on system security. DH called London and NY and NY reckon they can sort out a skype connection next week...but we're neither of us holding our breath. :( DH is trying to determine how long they foresee him staying there now, because it might be cost effective to look at other solutions....like international mobile options (or arguing an increased personal allowance to the work contract phone for talking to each other.). He was really really downcast when I left. :(

Not yet. The kitchen's being installed this week, then we're orf.
