You take a screen print, save the image file and then upload it to a pic hosting site like tinypic, imageshack, photobucket,...then insert the link through the 'insert image button'
That was brave
I'm not much of a poster there because I have no interest whatsoever in house prices and others are more qualified than me to post about economic issues. There's hardly any debate left, and I don't feel like reading endless bickering between 'bears and bulls'.
I'll stick to this thread, today I learned sat dishes always point south/southwest.
Still pondering about 'southwest' though. If a satellite is in a geosynchonous orbit south east to us, they would be pointing that way, no? Why southwest?Me neither. The likes of Graham can't see much action, methinks. I couldn't achieve 1/4 of his output and I'm retired! :rotfl:
We all work in the public sector.;)
Seriously, I try to pop back on the main bit, but despair. I can recall 2 years ago & more how every day there were several threads of great interest. Now, it is mainly dogma & childish insults.
Wheezy, I knew f all when I started here. I asked questions, frindly people (for example but not exclusively Gen, kennyboy, Inspector Monkfish, LIR, viva, treliac, really2) answered, explained, debated, queried, and I learned loads, including questioning my own perceptions & assumptions. I'm still a novice imo. But have learned fantastic stuff from fc123 about the textiles industry & business. Generali has been so considerate in translating complex stuff into accessible information. Inspector Monkfish taught me so many many things (I do miss him). Good posters like these, many others, some who I've never directly communicated with eg dunstonh are clearly here to share knowledge.
I feel like an old fart missing "the old days".It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

Just as Wheezy says...
I use windows snipping tool to take a copy of the part of the screen i want, (Start> Accessories> snipping tool) save it, then use tinypic.com to upload the image, then just copy the image tag and paste it in your reply.0 -

Decided against the idea of the DAB - mainly cos you need an extra fiddly ariel.
Ideally I'd like a cd player & radio that plays mp3's, & has either an aux socket or a usb port.
TIA!:)
have six or seven pints and then go on ebay, you'll get a cracking bargain, and a load of other stuff you never knew you needed.0 -
Apropos of nothing in particular and certainly nothing in the news currently, can I just inform all the nice people that if we meet up and I make an unwelcome pass at you, all you have to do is tell me to stop, and I will. And I'll apologise profusely. If you decide to scream as well, that's fine. It's your prerogative, and I'll just make my exit even faster. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

I for one would be flattered
Cold has now caught up with me (builders turned off immersion fuse yesterday and forgot to turn it on again so luke warm shower this AM and even though I have not lifted anything today or even twisted awkwardly my back has gone into spasm making any movement pretty much agony. And DD2 has picked up the vomiting bug going round her school while DW is getting emotional blackmail from her big son who has had a more than generous pay out for his car that someone drove in to but can not be bothered to sort himself out a replacement. Also still no sign of the builder sorting out the boiler but I am in no state to confront him about it.I think....0 -

in this spirit, if i happen to run you over in two separate vans, and then walk past your unconcious body, ignoring you on 18 separate occassions...it's nothing personal.0 -
Oops and thanks - GDB's post had gone whoosh straight over my head until your contribution sent me back to the BBC website.chewmylegoff wrote: »in this spirit, if i happen to run you over in two separate vans, and then walk past your unconcious body, ignoring you on 18 separate occassions...it's nothing personal.I think....0

My bad- I meant to type southeast and you quoted me before I could fix it. I didn't notice my mistake until I read your reply
In fact I gather the UK's satellites are mainly around 28 degrees east from due south . I imagine it's like a clockface with north at 12 and the dishes pointing at 5. I expect it varies a bit around the country.
I just treat it as if they're pointing south. Betting shops always have dishes ( I gather the betting companies put up the first comsats). There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

Sounds awful. Wish there was something I could do to make it speed up for you. My builder has been here this morning. I now have a bedroom door that opens in the correct directionan am promised I will have some curtain tracks and poles by the end of the day
. He's measured up for the shower screen and gone off to buy it, so I might even get that too. Just need to remind him to reconnect the bathroom radiator while he's here, and fill in the hole in the laminate flooring in the hall.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

On a Friday??
Got to be a good chance you won't see him again today.0
