Yep. Furthermore, dh NEVER asks someone to do something he is not prepared to do himself....if he asks someone to work on something that is going to take into the wee small hours, he works with them. Same with weekends, if he wants something done that's going over a weekend he comes home and works from here...and would expect them to do the same. Because he is still very lowly himself, he is close to knowing how it feels to be left with a heart beating from an unfair dressing down and to work in a quiet lonely office. DH is very gentle, and the trainee didn't get a dressing down or a punishment (other than having to work same hours as him) but the thing is...it will be remembered. He's not in a position to yell even if he wanted too, and he never would, but he is asked for feedback.

Trowels I don't know, they want to walk around in a couple of weeks to see first. tbh, there is so much 20th century crud that its hard to imagine the possibility.lostinrates wrote: »thank you
Maybe we should get one of each and have races.
NDG, what is ''your'' period of history? I'm trying to google for this thing, but don't know how to spell it, which is getting pretty frustrating....I need someone who knows about the right period of history to direct me to a map/the right spelling of the historical name of a small area so I can read more.lostinrates wrote: »you are being saintly.
To balance out the negative, we all think you are wonderful.
PN's suggestion of pedalo swans is right up my street.:D One for each NP so we can come down and have a race.
They could be diff cols too so the partners could see which NP is winning.

I don't get it? Trainee 1 did the Pro bono (and it finished earlier so got to go home @ 6.30) and trainee 2 didn't but had to work longer on cash generating stuff but didn't mind? Which trainee did something wrong and what was it?0 -

I think we all need reminding how small the Cake is!
yup ...but a full on weekend for DH with a digger (which are fun machines) could make it big enough.:D0 -

trainee who turned down pro bono had to work with dh into the night, where as if they had done what ''asked'' they could had been home for supper.
Trainee who took opportunity of pro bono when [STRIKE]told[/STRIKE] asked got to go home early....(had that one alspo turned it down at asking after finishing the pro bono they would have had to stay late and work too)

Was it a test to see who wanted to do Pro Bono or who didn't?0 -
I am being really really thick here.
Was it a test to see who wanted to do Pro Bono or who didn't?
no not at all. It just so turned out it could be used that way.
There is no test: as NDG says, when a trainee the only correct answer is ''yessir''. (unlkess being asked to do something dodgy!)0
