Sorry to butt in - too brain dead to think of anything amusing to add to the current conversation but have a question to ask. I have taken advantage of the scaffolding that's been put up for my solar panels, and been up and removed several tons (well, two largish bucketfuls actually) of dried moss from my gutters. So do I put it in my compost bin, and if not, then how do I dispose of it?
We have had a scare here tonight. DD dropped the hamster ball, with the hamster in it, and we then had a rather dazed hamster lying on her side doing nothing, and a distraught little girl. The emergency vet was very kind on the phone and recommended putting the hamster in her cage and leaving her in a darkened room for an hour to see what happened. She has now been seen pottering about through the various tubes of her cage, so we think she's OK. It has been rather upsetting for the whole family though.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

The last lot of moss i removed went straight in my normal bin.
It was either that or "hoyed" over the fence into the field.
I didn't consider recycling it.
Hope hammy pulls through for the wee one at least0 -
Green bin for the moss?
I think there is something very narcissistic about having large prints of oneself in the house.I think....0 -
Moss will compost OK.
For the record, I'm not handsome, but I might have been once.:) I know this because, at 18, I was in a photo which made it into the window of the local paper's offices. Standing there, looking at photos of other local events, I heard one of the girls next to me comment on 'my' photo and make favourable remarks. It was a moment too good to waste, so I asked her if I was just as good in the flesh. The two of them fled.
My handicap has always been being 5' 5"...... and probably a bit less than that now, as one shrinks with age. Never mind, it's less far to fall when I get doddery.
Hamsters are tough. Probably a bit of concussion. Just tell her that humans actually pay to go Zorbing.0 -

DH's dad is at least five inches shorter than you and has never struggled to get women. He is also really very shortsighted (registered blind). And a little vain. When he started greying the family teased him and he started using Grecian 2000 or whatever and died his hair purple. He wouldn't have it that it was purple and resisted help from his family for years over it. He was quite good looking when younger though.
Davesnave, in your pictures you look younger than you are (so does your wife) that's extremely attractive.0 -

I agree on both scores. Its the topic of hot debate atm, this picture. There is not a single picture of me out. Oh, that's not true, a snap of us on our wedding day is face down on the top of my desk....i hate it but just like to check the day happened sometimes, and one of me aged about 2 is upstairs on a window sill because I found it in a box of stuff a couple of weeks ago and don't know what to do with it.0 -

Thanks, it's good to know all those hours working with the airbrush feature in Photoshop are paying off.;)
I hope DW looks younger than me; after all, she has 11 years less on the clock! :rotfl:0 -

This one's for LJ, and anyone else who's turned on by big, round, juicy things:0

You've seen pictures of Davesnave? Are any of the rest of us allowed to see pictures of anyone? I find that meeting one nice person has made me much more curious than before to know what all the others look like.lostinrates wrote: »My hair is good when its in good condition (its in a scrappy pig tail atm).
Now I settle for looking friendly
Your hair looked lovely when I saw it, and you definitely look friendly.
ETA The hamster has survived the night. She is in the nest bit of the cage, mostly sleeping and sometimes half opening her eyes and shuffling about a bit. It's bedtime now, anyway, for a nocturnal animal.Do you know anyone who's bereaved?
