A month later and the books either side have gone off on holiday to peoples' houses but the book on bear markets is still sitting forlornly on the shelf. Before you laugh your socks off and talk about house prices Hamish, I'm not convinced a book on bull markets would have performed any better.
Clearly we are a clique living at the margins of society. Or alternative we don't really care that much either and just come here for a natter.
I've been looking for a book on gold ramping for next month but I couldn't find one as we only buy quality tomes. Like Jade Goody's life story and Horrid Henry.
I'd go for the quote in bold........
Trying out different books on the GBP to see what goes out or not sounds like good fun too. Have you put out the new Katie Price 'novel' yet?lostinrates wrote: »Also we have had a very minor but unrresolved disagreement. DH would like a tv in the bedroom. I don't want one..its not as simple as not using it when not wanted. My suggestion at compromise is to have one but with no arial, so just for films...I like being down stairs with the animals, and its fair to them.
TV in the bedroom I have resisted for years and, fortunately, I have still 'won'.
Son used to have a portable years ago but neither have a tv now as son tends to watch on his laptop if in his room and DD hardly watches tv at all preferring to natter online with a million mateys.
I loved it in Brighton when we didn't have a telly for 3 years and I wouldn't have one now given the choice. Sadly, I am married to a man who cannot give up his evening telly habit of 3 hours solid. He has been reading again recently, did the dragon trilogy and is now halfway through a John Grisham novel (which he seems to be enjoying).
If (and it's a big IF and When) we do the house, we are thinking of converting the current kitchen into a study/cosy lounge and putting telly in there instead leaving big lounge telly-free.
Thougts are with you PN if you look in...
I forgot to post on SS post about using a chair on hols and how it made things 'easier'......seems like a good idea sometimes as, if you had a broken leg, you would use one to carry on getting A - B. Having a bad back that gets so bad that it affects walking...... it would be a good reason to have one in the house to use on bad days.
SE London seems back to normal again and all is safe as I left both front windows all the way down on the polo, the keys in the ignition and on the drive all day Sunday. I unpacked the shopping, got chatting to the neighbour and forgot to take out keys and wind up windows.
It was still there 4 hours later.
Now that could be because it is burgundy and 6 years old or our area is back to being a safe haven.0 -

It then puts all the quotes together and you can type between them. I think the maximum posts you can quote is three, though AIUI you can get round that by a quick edit of cut and pasted material.
Go on, try it and see. We know you want to;).
Thanks.
I always thought there would be an easier way than copy n paste from another window.0 -

Pastures
I am so sorry for your loss but you did so well to be there at the end and to convince well old to be there in time."This site is addictive!"

You can probably add extremely tired and mentally drained to that list. Pastures you've been nothing short of amazing for the last month or so in what you have done. Nothing you have said here has suggested even a glint of inadequacy.
It may not be fair to talk like this so soon after the event, but soon you will be able to move onto the stage of sorting out the well old and hopefully the demands of being in two places at one time will become far less onerous. At the very least you should have time to sleep and eat better.
We're all thinking of you. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

I'm sorry to hear that PN. Try to take some time to look after yourself.
I went on a massive multi-month drinking binge when my Dad died. With hindsight it was probably a mistake.0 -

.....hey PN....you are far from inadequate. Quite the opposite i would say.
Things are going to be tricky for a while longer but you are doing such a great job esp as it seems to be solo much of the time.
Do you have any help organising what comes next?0 -
So I drive around them and carry on my way. I phone 101 (well son does) and we tell them where the accident is. Then I think should I have phoned 999?
I'd have left them to it as nobody's injured.
Years ago I saw an accident at a roundabout between a bus and a car; I stopped as I'd witnessed it. If I hadn't, then the bus driver (who was in the wrong) might have got away with it.0 -
I'm sorry I haven't contributed or thanked anyone today. I've been really busy on my accounts, which are somewhat out of date, but becoming less so. I'm using VT CashBook, which is free and seems to do what I need. They've done some thinking on the data entry, so it uses past transactions to predict what you're about to type. It's surprisingly fun to use. Some things are clunky, but for what I'm paying it's good.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
