I'm with Igamogam on this one! The virtually instant headache they induce may have something to do with it. (My stash included 2 of the things but I off-loaded them to a Charity Shop within days of getting them.)

Delurking to issue an apology to the Malvern Hills, where I left a malodorous maple and walnut candle with a scent so sickly, we had to evict it from the car on the way home.

Thank you. I feel cleansed now. :D

You have so much energy you put me to shame :) Any good ideas on getting OH's to get rid of computer crap, think I am up to 4 storage boxes of cables and 3 crates

Seriously why do we need so much, its just me and OH yet have 3 pc's, 2 laptops, 1 tablet and a server :rotfl:I only use 1 laptop out of these, rest is OH's

I will raise you 5 supermarket delivery crates of computer tat. 3 monitors 2 printers 2 flat screen monitors 3 lap tops 7 ( yes odd number ) speakers 3 PC towers and 1 conventional desk top housing thing and 2 large cardboard boxes a small child could hide in full of cables of all shapes sizes and design - all for 'just in case'. Dont get me started on the chargers for phones cameras etc etc :rotfl: :rotfl:

It seems you have to stand between him and the telly with a fistful of identical cables and say we don't need nine of these do we and when he declares they might come in handy you tell hime you're going to bung them in his shed. Miraculously then you only need one "just in case". It's tedious. Parting with his complete set of Windows 3.1 floppy discs was considerably more painful.

Passports arrived 7 days after posting the application. Unfortunately they've disappeared just as quickly. I signed for them at 7:45am as I was departing for work, legged it back to the house and gave them to DD1 through the window. She left for school and theres now no sign of the passports anywhere. Hoping she hasn't been helpful and bunged them in the postbox on her way to the bus stop. mind you kicking around in her school bag all day isn't exactly the best case scenario.

Took delivery of several parcels. One containing a rather ridiculous1.8kg of sock wool from Kemps which was reduced to 15% of its original asking price. The other from someones cupboard clearout which was equally well priced. Intercepted the bigger on without being spotted by the OH.

Spent the morning gutting the master boudoir. Moved all the furniture to vac under it and flipped the knackered matress which we still haven't got around to replacing. Can't agree on anything. OH is determined to get a Super King even though we won't be able to light the fire without moving the bed across the room and climbing over it to get in and out of the door all winter. Whilst I see that as a bit of an issue he doesn't. I was planning to wash the windows and the paintwork but the OH has departed for an afternoon nap. At times it like having a toddler in the house. Still it does mean I can sit on my bum for a bit without him complaining that I don't do anything.

DO NOT get a super king bed !! We moved from a double to a super king recently, It feels like sleeping on the opposite side of a small continent from DH, I often have to send out the search dogs just to ensure he is actually IN the bed !
I get lost turning over in the night, I have now tied a string from my little finger to the bedside light so I can find my way out in the mornings
Its also cost me a small fortune in new sheets & duvet ... which is really only big enough to cover the bed with hardly any tidy drape over the edges !!
With hindsight, a king size would have been plenty big enough, Size isnt everything, the extra 6" would have been plenty, never mind an extra 18" !! :p
Its just a bad day, Not a bad life ..

I compromised and got a 6ft bed which is a small super king, smaller than super king but bigger than double, super king wouldnt fit in but hey love the space even moan with OH being there, prefer it all to myself ;)

Only problem is it a european size so fitted sheets arent cheap but not too bad, got a super king duvet so can get standard prices in that and get lots of extra duvet to myself :D

That sounds like several excellent reasons to get one then. Mind you even at the otherside of a small continent I'd be able to hear the snoring, farting, teeth grinding sleep depriving thing that is my OH

and so it appears dozy DD1 did post the passports. Have contacted the passport people to report them AWOL. Ho hum. Fortuntely the human on the other end of the phone did find it quite funny.

Spent yesterday at the NEC Caravan and Camping show. Never, ever, ever again. I hate caravans. I hated caravans before we got there and even more by the time I left. As a ritual in humiliation they are truly awesome. I saw one poor generously proportioned lady get wedged in the doorway of one. Glad I was wearing steel toe capped boots. I lost count of the number of rude people who stood on my toes or kicked my ankles. Some imbecile even managed to trip up over DD2 which is quite impressive considering shes 1.4m tall. I hate crowded places!

Plans for today involve much uniform washing and domestic drudgery. Oh joy!

You may well get the passports back if they were posted in the original envelope with your address on - just a thought! cant think of anything worse than a caravan show! Well maybe the Good Food show at the NEC also full of rude people with bl00dy wheelie trollies catching your ankles

Clearly you haven't thought hard enough:

Model Boat Show aka lots of anoraks sitting around a giant paddling pool watching their model boat pootle round in a circle on the tv monitor attached to their remote control despite the model being a maximum of 8 feet away from them at any one time.

Model Engineering Show - as above with the added fun of trying not to step on or kick the models which are being driven round your ankles

Car Jumble - pile after pile of unidentifiable grimy bits of someone elses partially dismantled car at floor level on a grimy plastic sheet in the middle of a water logged windswept field with one portaloo whose previous occupant spent the night on a beer fueled curry binge. There you're more likely to be whacked on the back of the head by someone carrying a six foot section of exhaust on their shoulder who spins through 360 degres like a superhero to see where their family and the rest of their exhaust system are.

I suspect the OH would say much the same about knittery events which is why the DDs and I don't take him to them.

Meanwhile today heralds the start of week 2 of a 5 week long term. Did shed loads of housework yesterday in the hopes of getting some time on the very complex charted shawl. Abandoned trying to do it with the OH about. He was plonked in front of Top Gear when I set everything up in another room yesterday but utilised the adverts to hunt me down like a dawg and complain I never spent any time with him. Hellllooooo I endured slow torturous death by Caravan Show only hours earlier! Gave up and did the ironing instead. At least I don't have any left to do today. Even washed up and mopped the kitchen floor before going to bed which is unheard of.
