Yet more financial faux pas and many other disasterous decisions

Things in the land of moo are more manic than ever. Quite how thats possible escapes me. The cleaner is off sick until the start of November, the school inspectors visit is not long after that. Really doubt she'll be back. Advertised the temporary position and had a veritable deluge of applicants, so many that we had to check that the advert had actually been placed. It had and no one applied. Humph. Have readvertised but am not holding out much hope. Am getting some overtime to compensate, would rather be home with the demonic daughters though.
Operation Reclaim the House is still ongoing. Have three more bags of stuff for the charity shop and a whole lot more stuff for the tip. The decluttering seems to be never ending. Quite why is a mystery. I've been more scrooge like than ever. Haven't bought much other than food for aeons (aeons being the time since the spinning wheel purchase).Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

All is indeed well. The ruthless clear out continues apace. OH has been persuaded to part with the broken fishing rod that has been languishing behind the freezer for quite some time judging by the depth of dust lurking around it. More stuff has headed shedwards, a steady trickle seems to be making its way back to the house but bunging it all in a big box and depositing it back in the shed appears to be working way better than any subtle hints have.
Finished several knittery items. The hideous mutant ninja jellyfish hat
and a slightly more granny-esque super lacy shawl.
Still running round like a headless chicken at work.
Much happier all round though. OH is elsewhere for the day so I'm having the day off to do random things just because I can. Thusly I have cleared out the yarn stash and bunged a carrier bag of dross on fleabay. It still seems to be breeding though. Going to spend the afternoon sewing in a gazillion ends on projects that are finished all apart from that.
Meanwhile I'm slowly going through the household wardrobes and shoe dumping grounds. I've filled five bin bags so far. Mostly because other people keep giving me clothes for the demonic daughters which is lovely but not enormously helpful when the oiks see and like everything even if its more suited to a lady of the night than a 9 year old. Will be exchanging the surplus for wonga at the cash for clothing place as soon as I finish the last wardrobe.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

It is indeed a pumpkin, although minus the stalk and with a few dangly ends it looked more jellyfish.
Hope you survive your OH being underfoot whilst you're not feeling great.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

Insomnia is where she gets the time. The inability to sleep for more than three hours a night suddenly gives you an awful lot of time to do quiet things whilst everyone around you snores.
Mahoosive leaps of progress have been made. The OH is qutiing somiking. Again for the hundreth time. Only this time he appears to be serious about it. Hes not taking his baccy to work whilch means hes getting through the first 8 hours of the day without a fag. More surprisingly hes also signed up to the local quacks quitters clinic. Unfortunately the muppets there told him that quitting will have negligable effect on his ongoing health problems and they're still going to refer him to the big honchos as hes beyond the GPs help. Hoping this will shock him into losing 6 stone too. Somehow I doubt it but I can dream.
Have orders for lots more winter hats from work which, whilst being tediously dull, does pay for the wool for the fun knitting. Braving the local spinners guild today. Have to try v. hard not to buy too many exciting things to play with. Do I need dyes or silk or cashmere? Noooo but anyway....
Still cleanerless at work but after 6 weeks I have a vague solution in the form of child labour. Post college and pre-me going home on time (something that hasn't happened for months) hes going to do something useful. Quite what I haven't figured out. But an extra pair of hands is an extra pair of hands no matter how brief their appearance is.
Still have tons of fence to paint at work but the weathers been ghastly which is as good an excuse as any for not doing anything about it.
In more gobsmacking news I have been bitten by the cleaning bug. I know. Me. Most odd. No I'm not pregnant, nor are the parents due anytime soon..... but yet I found myself washing down paintwork. V. scary.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500
