I needed vodka shots. Lots and lots of vodka shots. My instant drying undercoat refused to instantly dry. The freezer containing all the meat and veg for the next week decided to pack up over the weekend despite me checking it weekly up until that point meaning we have to scrounge enough food for 100 meals in time to cook it for lunch today and one of the pupils who left last term has decided to return without telling anyone. Fortunately thats someone elses hot potato. I did get home to find the DDs had washed upI'm easily pleased.
Also told my boss I'm having another lot of surgery. I've been bannished from the building from the day it occurs until the day the stitches are removed. No being the hero this time round.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
I did a whole 'sock mountain pairing' pairing thing last week whilst watching TV - DD1 had been complaining that she didnt have any and DD2 complaining she had no school socks - (black trainer socks Marks have stopped selling them) had 2 carrier bags and spent a good hour and half doing the pairing - there were socks in there dating back to when we had toddlers in the house - DD1 graduated this year:eek:
My first day back too - see cant sleep. Had to deal with enormous wasp nest - now wasps dont bother me but they freaked out the 'person promoted' over me. Up shot is extra day without the mad frogs:j
I still have a sock mountian. I'm randomly wearing socks from the summit having worn through the toes of most of my socks. Should really give in and buy some new ones but am determined to wear out all the old ones first. DD2s socks are being worn and binned rather than washed as they're rapidly disintegrating too. She has new ones for school but I've hidden those somewhere very safe to stop her getting holes in them before school starts..... did a v. good job of hiding them too.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Plans for today involve 6 hours at the grindstone and the decluttering of the kitchen drawers in the hopes of chucking a drawerful of tat. Pretty confident that won't be too difficult to achieve. Also need to wash the bedding as it reeks of damp dog thanks to the hound from hell chasing a goldfish in the pond.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

Cleaned out two drawers, changed and washed all the bedding. Discovered we've run out of laundry detergent. Humph. OH picked up some shopping yesterday and forgot to buy any.
No chance of making knitting group today as the weather is glorious and I have 50 m of fencing to paint at work in exchange for more holiday which is jolly good as I only have 30 hours left until next April.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Managed a 10 hour day at work yesterday, four hours of which involved fence painintg. I went through 3l of paint and have barely made any headway. Think I'll need another 50l to do the lot although bizarely the boss thought 2.5l would be enough to do the lot. Kinda wishing I hadn't volunteered to do it in exchange for extra holiday.
The wrinklies are due today. I've done zero housework. Hoping to get the bathrooms done before work which means finidng some enthusiasm v. quickly.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
I am doing 10 hour dasy at work at moment too - madness because its a thankless task !Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

It seems the reason the boss was a bit miffed at me using 2.5l of paint and its repective primer to do 4 fence panels wasn't so much because I'd used it but because I'd told him I'd need at least another 10 tins of each to finish the job, double that if he wants both sides doing. It seems one retails at £45 and the other at £35. Planning to spend the afternoon at work in the sun getting another chunk done to shut the neighbours up since they were complaning about it before the erectors had finished.
The wrinklies have been and gone. Whilst it was lovely to see them they get more and more infuriating with each trip. Yesterdays early departure ended up being at 1pm for no reason other than they faffed about a lot. It took them an hour to pack their bags. How. They were only here for a single night. On the brightside the house is surprisingly clean and tidy having spent most of Thursday cleaning like a loon so I can sucessfully avoid doing anything much until early next week which is always good, especially because tomorrow is the day of days. The one where the spinning wheel arrives :j. DD2 has cleared a large section of her bedroom just in case I decide it would be safer in there than anywhere else in the house. Shes already rummaged through the box of fluff and dug out some stuff to practice with, obviously the most expensive bag of stuff in the cupboard.
DD2 has a huge hole in her school shoe which means we're going shoe shopping at some point.
OH is at work for three entire days and then home until early October which will curtail my PC time quite considerably. Must make the most of it whilst I can.
Still haven't listed much tat on E-bay. The stuff I have listed has ridiculous numbers of watchers but infuriatingly no bidders. Its not much of an incentive. I'm sick of answering inane questions, questions like "could you quote for a courier to load your £20 washing machine onto a pallet and ship it overseas?" and "is it cosmetically perfect?" and best of all "I don't undersatand why it doesn't work. Could you get an engineer out to see whats wrong before I bid?" Aaaagh.

Eeeek I got the option to log in via Facebook..... why on earth is that an option.... I don't want my work collegues or my actual real life family and friends knowing about my finances or anything else I waffle about on here for that matter.
Anyhow moving swiftly on I managed four hours overtime at work monotonously painting fences. A couple more weeks of that and I'll be greener than the incredible hulk. I'm managed about 15% of it so far. Feels like I'll be painting forever. I'll be grateful for the extra holiday later in the year though.
DD2 has been awake since 4:30am. She didn't want to sleep in and miss collecting the spinning wheel. I'm being quizzed randomly to see if its time to go yet, tis most funny. Shes dressed, with shoes and a bag of fluff to spin in her hand, ready to leg it just in case time suddenly flies.
I suspect v. little will be achieved today.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
