Toasted peanut butter sandwiches with mashed bananas are equally v. nice, as are peanut butter toasties with chocolate buttons. I fear a visit from the diet police is imminent. Was more than a little surprised that I'm aquiring a spare tyre but given that I've already finished the 400g Toblerone the Easter Bunny so kindly sent my way I guess I shouldn't be that surprised.
Anybody for peanut butter and strawberry jam butties?? Has to be my favourite high calorie snacketteBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

OK I did have a banana with the muesli this morning! The peanut butter and jam thing is an American import I believe - as they call it peanut butter and jelly I can only assume their jam dont have lumps in it
The strawberry jam on my peanut butter has to have big juicy strawbs in it or it just aint jam
I love M*rmite too. Sorry Moo hijacking your thread!

Marmite ranks alongside tinned brussel sprouts as the most hideous things ever to be mistakenly classified as a foodstuff.
Patio is nearing completion. All the slabs are laid, theres just the small matter of mortaring in all the edges and filling the gaps between the slabs with sand. It looks fabulous, a look which will be completely wasted when the shed finaly arrives. I've aquired quite a collection of battle scars along the way although none are in any way comparable to OHs slab rash, doubt he'll forget to roll down his sleeves before running the angle grinder again.
Suppose I should really consider spending the last 48 hours of the holiday doing domesticated things to ensure the DDs have uniform on Monday.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Now I like sprouts.......... but tinned:eek: M*rmite banned in Denmark I believe:rotfl: I have only been half concentrating on your shed building exploits - well done on laying all those slabs but why is the shed now going to sit on them??Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

It always was but because nothing here is ever simple we've had to go for a bespoke model because apparently people who buy sheds the size we're buying want them with the door on the other side. It took 2 weeks just to get a price out of the company making it and will take another 4-8 weeks to be made, two further days to be delivered and then because we're awkward we told them in advance the days there will be someone here to take delivery which has delayed things further since they'd like us to be at their beck and call for 5 days a week and that ain't gonna happen any time soon. So between now and then I have a patio on which to watch the snow fall. Having given it some thought and tripped over endless amounts of man treasure in the house I'm still half wishing we'd gone for the two storey dutch barn option but couldn't face a two month long wait and five hundred pound planning permission application knowing that the neighbours would object simply because they object to everything anyone does regardless of whether it affects them.
The sooner the shed turns up the sooner we can have a mahoosive clear out in the house, although admitedly I am still shifting bits and pieces of tat on flea bay and freecycle but its slowed down to a drip because I really really can't be arsed. Still whilst its still trickling along I am at least making a very small amount of headway.
Being skint over the holidays has helped too. I haven't done much in the way of food shopping for quite some time which means theres daylight in the pantry and my toes are no longer in danger of being crushed by a precariously balanced can of something or other wedged in slightly too small a space. This has led to some interesting concoctions. Apparently chocolate spread and pickled onion sandwiches are wonderful, although OH wasn't quite so ecstatic about kangaroo burgers and cheese, hopefully he won't make the mistake of buying them again.
Fogot all about yesterday being payday and most excitingly the first payday after the new improved budget. In theory I fall into the category George and David most want to help out of the gutter and so their new and improved tax busting measures mean I am a gobsmacking 35p a day better off. Bravo chaps! Unfortunately the vast increase in the cost of diesel means this, and quite a bit more, goes straight back into the governmental coffers, but they mean well.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
We had the whole 'door on the other side bespoke shed thing' so the OH decided to strike out on his own and build his own from the bottom up - meaning we now have a enormous man playhouse that yes the neighbours complained to the planning dept about. Unfortunately for them,OH had done his homework and despite its size it comes well under the planning requirement radar - amazing really cos its really a Swiss Chalet at the bottom of the garden - yes full of man toys ( lathe included !) but with all services laid on, a separate office, all double glazed insulated and with a veranda/sitting area to catch the morning sun - thats for me apparently! Kept him busy for 3 months whilst 'between' jobs - but no slab laying thank goodness! Dont kid yourself though the house will be rid of its tat and man gadgets................... A few years down the line its beginning to mellow into the garden a bit with a climbing rose and herbaceous vine growing up it - OH efforts to hide it as he really didnt think it would be so big!
The David and George combo hits our household this month - thanks to them I now will have to pay £43 a month more to work for 12 years longer than I intended/planned/put money in my pension for and get less at the end of it.....am I bitter? Oh just a smidgen............
Have a good weekend Moo before the daily grind starts again:)Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi
