The patio laying malarky is a family afair with OH in charge of the specifics and hire shop runs and the rest of us labouring. Got as far as laying slabs today but realised that we can't manoeuver them into position as easily as we'd like so having to wait until tomorrow for gadgetery assitance to arrive.
Meanwhile finished the second sleeve of DD2s jumper and started on the bottom of the body. Am v. glad shes scrawny and even more glad I'd gone for a size she would eventually grow into as I wrongly assumed it was a DK pattern when in fact its worsted so its come out a bit narrower than I'd expected. Still fits though which is the bit that matters.
Am enjoying holidaying far too much. Really should go to school at some point but can't be arsed. Not entirely sure my boss will appreciate my new super laid back attitude.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Collected the gadget of wonder from the hire shop at 7:30am. Have laid almost 40 slabs so far. Reached the point where each slab needs to be cut in order to lay it which is incredibly time consuming.
Leaving OH to it for the afternoon in order to go to work to paint a fence in the sun. Hoping that placates the boss a little.
In most excellent news I have aquired a jar of Aldi's Hazelnut Chocolate Spread and it ain't half bad. Still not quite as good as Nutella but its the closest I've found to it so far. Am happily dunking bread sticks in it like a child with a giant choc dip. Unfortunately like a child with a choc dip I have rather a lot of chocolate smeared around my mouth. Tis most unbecoming and unlaydee likeSaving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Nothing beats Nutella
On brown bread with bananas is my favourite:D

I LOVE Aldi's choc spread......I have happily ditched Nutella in favour of. Tried some from Lidl. Never again <shudder>I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

but far more fun than eating it off a stick of celery.... I guess I should admit to that too.....
In most excellent news whilst at work I bumped into my boss who was most surprised to see me there and has forbidden me to return until Monday unless the alarm goes off on either Saturday or Sunday mornings as hes playing golf. In even better news hes remembered that I want to change my contracted hours so hopefully that will be sorted sooner than later, although later suits me better as I've used up way more holiday hours than I'm entitled to... need to string it out a little longer to avoid hassle.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

Toasted peanut butter sandwiches with mashed bananas are equally v. nice, as are peanut butter toasties with chocolate buttons. I fear a visit from the diet police is imminent. Was more than a little surprised that I'm aquiring a spare tyre but given that I've already finished the 400g Toblerone the Easter Bunny so kindly sent my way I guess I shouldn't be that surprised.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

So he's playing golf and you're laying slabs....who's doing the work? :rotfl:
Good news that he's remembers about changing of the hours, at least you won't have to keep reminding him.
Is the patio almost done? Are you ready to lie on a lounger with the vino?
