Oi.... Nora you're supposed to leave some chocolate counters in the bag... sheesh.
Meanwhile I've managed almost half a jumper sleeve. Surprising how little wool it uses when you're not paying for it. I fear there will still be an awful lot of yarn left in the stash when I'm done, not helped by yesterdays delivery of a carrier bag full of oddments although I'll be passing a lot of it on because its white or pale pink acrylic and I can't see me ever using either although I have a friend who churns out a never ending stream of baby clothes who will be most happy to be on the receiving end of it.
Managed to rack up ten hours at work yesterday. Got drenched by the non stop torrential rain but managed to get a large chunk of fence repaired. Now need it to stay dry long enough to sand it and give it a quick coat of paint.
Had a phone call out of the blue from a distant aunt who is passing this way at the weekend which is even more of an incentive to do some cleaning. As if the arrival of OHs bro tomorrow wasn't incentive enough.
Had the best nights sleep in ages last night. Ventured upstairs to bed, got half way up the staircase but was detered from going any further by the volume of OHs snoring. Abandoned that idea, grabbed a sleeping bag and spentt he night on the sofa bed. Feel almost human this morning which is just as well really as I've got tons to do.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Ugh my brain hurts and the task I set it is so simple. Write 200 words about a female literary character and link it to a handbag making the writing more about the bag than the person in order to name the bag. How hard can that be. Really. So why then have I spent the last hour staring at a blank screen shuffling words around on a page and coming up with diddly squat. Its not rocket science.
Bag 1 is sophisticated
Bag 2 is structured and reminiscent of the 1950s
Bag 3 and its smaller identical companion are like giant envelopes with triangular bases. I'm not selling it well am I?
I can waffle for Britain so why is it that I'm at a total loss for words?
I can think of no end of characters but who in their right mind wants to name a product after someone famed for a gorey literary death or traginc life? Equally whilst certain herioines have fabulous characters they have absymally dull first names. Think Jane Eyre, Anna Karenina, Moll Flanders, even the Little Women (Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy). Bah. I need a heroine with a name with pizazz and a personality to match and can I think of one? Can I heck. So the likelihood of me coming up with four or even five is so remote its funny.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

Oh yes I see it now. The Queen wanders into Harrods and announces to the salesperson " One requires a Titty Bag".Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

Titty, Baldy? It's not necessarily a name I'd choose :rotfl:

Inspiration struck whilst I had my head shoved down a bog scrubbing off the limescale that septic tank friendly toilet cleaner leaves behind. Have tried everything from denture tablets to coca cola but always end up with a scouring pad. Anyhow all five bags are named with ridiculous explanations for the reasoning behind them. Was trying to figure out how to include Pippi Longstocking but gave up in the end. Theres no reason why a girl with a horse on her porch would need a handbag for anything other than horse feed and no one in their right mind would pitch a handbag as doubling up as a nose bag for nags.
Got tons done today and then discovered OHs bro won't arrive until long after the DDs have gone to bed which allows me a little last minute breathing space.
Managed to get two coats of polish on the hall floor and discovered the carpet fitters have royally !!!!ed up. Bet I won't be popular when I point out their oversight tomorrow.
Having a cheeky glug of Amaretto before collapsing in a heap in the vicinity of the snoring farting teeth grinding thing currently occupying my bed. OH and the hound from hell have much in common.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Ugh. Am attempting to help DD1 with her Welsh homework which involves completing a picture based crossword puzzle. This is complicated quite considerably by letters of the alphabet being two letters long but placed into a single space in the puzzle box. Try explaining that one. Nope you can't use that word because in an English puzzle it has too many letters but in Welsh you just cram 'em all in.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

Tis almost the start of my school holidays! Theres the small matter of a 12 hour day to get through with two shuttle runs to the riding school and an hour or so of last minute housework. Means I'll have managed a thirty plus hour week at work which is nothing short of miraculous in four days. Just getting through to bedtime is going to take a heroic amount of effort.
Quite looking forward to seeing OHs bro although I could do without the rest of the rellies descending at the same time. At least they won't be around for long.
Woke up to snow covered hills and a light scattering on the car. Will force the DDs to wear thermals under their jodphurs to save them freezing out on the stable yard. Will also need to remember to double the content of their butty boxes and send them with flasks of hot chocolate and possibly a pot poodle or too.
Need to keep a v. close eye on finances for the ten days remaining until payday to avoid hitting the overdraft. Its going to be a very close thing. Have emptied my back up account to cover todays childcare which leaves me £32.27 for the rest of the month. Theres the small matter of a £20 cheque which has yet to be presented and a direct debit for £10.21 which is due in another weeks time. Leaving me with the princely sum of £2.06 for the next ten days.Still at least I'll still be in the black providing I spend nowt between now and then. Fortunately pay day falls on a Bank Holiday so I only need to make it through to next Friday which is marginally better or at least it would be if we weren't going to the food festival this monday. Some serious magic wand waving is in order.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500
