Yet more financial faux pas and many other disasterous decisions

Tis a gloriously sunny morning. The first of many loads of laundry is in the machine. DD1 is still snoring which means I can avoid going into work for quite some time.
Plans for the day involve spending a couple of hours at work doing all the stuff I should have done on friday but didn't and a spot more hardcore shifting. Need to do much housework as OHs bro is coming to stay and my parents are due at some point over the bank holiday weekend. Hoping it rains at some point between now and then otherwise I'll never get round to it.
Attempted to take piccies of the heinous coat but royally !!!!ed them up so will wait until DD1 arises from her pit in order to take them outdoors on a real person in the hopes it looks a little less like one of Ugly Betty's ponchos.
Futher plans for the day involve hedge clippers and the start of the annual quest to tame the hedge which usually takes all year. Am also going to tackle the dreaded cupboard under the stairs in the hopes of generating enough space to stas a whole lot more tat under there. Also need to cull the DDs wardrobes now that its officially spring and they've switched over to summer uniform. Means I can get rid of all the winter stuff that won't fit next year and in the process unearth a whole load of last years summer stuff that they've outgrown.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
My 2 DDs spent a giggly half hour last night filling up my Ravelry account library with things they want mum to knit them:eek: To be fair DD2 did offer to have a go at something herself as she is quite keen - DD1 can knit but thinks well if someone else is happy to do why should she;) Dread to think what they have come up with! Looks like a trip to the wool emporium is on the cards during the hols:rotfl:Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Am avoiding the wool emporium having bought a kilo and a half of posh branded mystery wool for the price of postage. Planning to donate a large chunk of it to schools knitting club but I bet there are a couple of things I won't want to part with. Trying to reduce whats in the house to a more sensible level before buying any more although I'm vaguely contemplating this but would need to spend considerable time zumbaing before I'd dare wear it in public. I have rather more middle aged spread than is appropriate for it and I'm not sure I can be arsed knitting something so big on such tiny needles. Its all irrelevant anyway as I've promised DD1 a hoody next which will be done in rainbow stripes to use up as many dregs as possible.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

Lovely tunic...seems like a lot of work and wool. How much would the wool cost?"You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream"C. S. Lewis

If I went with a 500g cone of King Cole Merino about £15. By the ball the same stuff is £3.50 for 50g and I'd need 9 balls. But it is a ridiculous amount of work and I fear it would be boring as hell to knit and would get abandoned part way through.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

Not the kind of thing I would wear, admittedly, but it's very funky indeed!0 -
That coat is cool and expertly modelled! I wouldnt wear it but I know plenty who would. I mistakenly clicked on your link that you posted for the wool you used. Naughty Moo.
