Arrived home yesterday to a £5 giftcard from Asda. Something to do with a reward screw up. Not going to complain. Claimed another tenner from Shop and Scan and spent the afternoon chopping scrap wood into kindling for the fire. Should have enough for the rest of the winter.
Discovered a local traditional basket makers has started running workshops. V. tempted to have a go. Not entirely sure what you can whip up in three hours but its half the price of the other courses I've seen advertised and as its virtually on the doorstep it would seem daft no to have a bash. Rather annoyingly todays workshop is free but I'm teaching road saftey to a bunch of 5 year olds so theres no chance of me making it.
Seem to have done nothing round the house for days. Even forgot to wash DD1s PE kit. Dippier than normalSaving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Bah. Should have gone basket making. Road safety was awful. I had one child who wiped his snotty nose on my sneeze, another who was incapable of shutting up and refused to listen to anything and a tird who when asked what colour a car was replied "it's grey, like your hair miss." Got back to school, had a mouthful of coffee and was dragged away from the biccies to deal with a serial puker, the first of many.
Came home to find OH tearing his hair out at a PC with an extremely full hard drive, so full it was randomly crashing. Did the sensible thing and ditched lots of old programmes, five years worth of e-mail and a heck of a lot of other stuff. Hes already talking terabyte hard drives after the suggestion we just get rid of his entire gaming history which would mean he'd have to start the games all over again, even the ones he hasn't played in years. Have managed to reduce the content to a more stable level but could do with getting rid of an awful lot more.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Moo I confess I know !!!!!! all about computers but we do have an external hard drive where we put all our digital pics etc. Worth investing in one and moving across what you can maybe?I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

It would be if we hadn't already done that and installed a second hard drive the last time this happened.
Anyhow have deleted much more unnecessary tat and opened a savings account. Batty yes, but 8% was too good to turn down, I'm paying much less in interest on the debt and so have set up a regular payment in order to end the year with £3K in savings. MEans my debt free date will be pushed back a couple of weeks but I'll be better off in the long run. Plus it will stop me going mad with a sudden surplus of cash when debt freeness does occur.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Mmm.... skipped the E-bay listings in favour of doing something fun in the sun. Spent the day at Betws-y-coed with the hound. Tis so much nicer there when its not populated by tourists. Walked miles. Had a fab time, splurged a little but in a very controlled way.
I really admire the way you do these spur-of-the-moment things to take advantage of good weather. I should do more of this. There have been so many times when I think 'This is a PERFECT day for a walk in the hills' but I don't do it.
Well, I'm going to from now on.0 -

First Direct. Its only available if you hold a current account with them (if you don't theres a £100 welcome and they often offer an additional incentive if you're referred by an existing account holder). The 8% savings plan is rather imaginatively called the Regular Saver.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

You should know by now I'll do anything to avoid housework.
