Oh Moo - hope your thumb is better and you are not still a nice shade of purple, green and yellow :rotfl:and so at 3am DD2s alarm clock went off and got louder and louder and louder until I gave in and went to turn it off, randomly pushing buttons in the dark in the hopes of cancelling the snooze button. Each button press resulted in a bright flash of light. Eventually gave up and took the battery out and as I'm creeping out the room to go back to bed a small voice pipes up "Mummy I can't get to sleep". Bah.
This happened to us recently only it was about 10pm and I was in bed reading so was not jolted awake.
DD had been playing with her High School Musical stereo/alarm clock in the day and had moved the alarm hand to stupid o'clock.
I was happily reading in bed when some loud HSM song started, before I had a chance to get out of the bedroom and in to hers to switch it off DD had jumped out of bed, started screaming while falling over everything on the floor to make it to the door for help.
I have never known her so panic stricken - when I managed to calm her down she told me that she was so scared as she thought a burglar had got in (she has major issues around burglars/criminals of any kind).
I was basically peeing myself as I asked a genuine question - why would a burglar break in upstairs with his ghetto blaster on if he wanted to avoid detection :rotfl:
She did not see the funny side but I managed to get her back to sleep and made sure the alarm button was firmly on OFF.
Children - what would we do without them??
I wonder why your Country Market lady is pricing her products so low - does she just want shot of them or maybe she gets her wool for free???
Seems unfair on all the other people to me0 -
Country Market lady is retired, owns her own house, has no family and gets her wool for free. She goes there for the social life but is steadily killing it off and can't see it. Still when one door closes another opens and all that.
OHs fictional trip is getting funnier by the minute. His boss has told him its off, his boss's boss phoned five minutes later to confirm its on. They're flying him down but have yet to realise there aren't any flights so he'd have to stay overnight to fly home and then leave at breakfast time the next day in order to get there the night before which means he'd get 20 hours at home each weekend. Trains are even funnier. An open return, cattle crate, is a smidgen under £500 plus taxi fare to the station at 4am. Thinking it might be cheaper to get a taxi the whole way all because his boss won't allow him, or anyone else, to drive.
Finished knitting tea cosy features yesterday. Just need to sew them on. Spent far too long avoiding tidying but have made some headway so its not as dire as it sounds. Need a trip to Macro as we're people on the verge of a loo roll crisis. Was doing so well at not buying anything this week. Looking forward to the weekend and a long lie in, can't seem to stop yawning.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
It's all going on in Moo land. These retired sorts, honestly! You need to start knitting wars, knit like you've never knitted before. Bring it on!!

You are a real worker Moo. That is brilliant that you called into the shop and got an order. As you say, one door closes etc.
Your hubby's boss sound a right eejit:) no insult intended
:) So he is still up in the air to what is going to happen.
Hope you get to Macro soon. What if a major snow storm arrives moo and you have no roll:):):) Would you have enough to keep you going until the snow plough reaches you:)::) I am in a silly mood today Moo. Ignore me
:)
Hope you get a restful few days this week. I have a very busy one ahead of me but am looking forward to next week where I do not intend to go anywhere I do not need to."You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream"C. S. Lewis

Yesterday was gloriously sunny so we abandoned all plans and spent the day at the park. Had a fab time as did the hound. Allowed me to recharge my batteries.
Came home to find OHs course had been canned. Not in the least bit surprised.
Managed not to spend anything yesterday although my spendy finger is getting a little itchy. Theres nothing I need (apart from loo roll) but the urge to spend is gathering force.
Finished sewing up the owl in order for it to go in the post today. nothing like leaving things to the last minute. Stayed up far too late again and sewed in a few more ends on project coat. Will be ages before I get that finished.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Cashed out of another survey company claiming a whopping fiver, its taken me almost two years to get it. Still its bumped up my Amazon balance nicely.
Tis free listing on E-bay so I suppose I should do that at some point today, its not like theres any shortage of stuff to go. No one has yet noticed the absence of fish tank in the dinig room. Nor the cavernous space on the DVD shelves. Hoping to list 10 items today and another 10 tomorrow. The bigger the better. I'm valuing the space more than the cash at the mo.
Promised DD1 she can spend the day at the riding stables whilst DD2 and I shop until we drop. DD2 has birthday cheques from December to pay in and we need the odd bit of shopping too plus the car is seriously dehydrated already after OH took it to work a couple of times last week.
Have a vast array of other stuff to get done. None of it really matters but its the sort of stuff that niggles at you until its done.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

Oo - I know that feeling. I've been sanding and painting my kitchen walls today in preparation for new worktops being fitted tomorrow, but everywhere I look there are little jobs that need to be done - cleaning, washing, dusting, ironing. I've been specialising in odd tasks that don't take much time by themselves. All the mirrors are now sparkling!
Hope your kitchen is coming along, too. I still need to decide what flooring to go for, as the 'real' floor is a mish mash of quarry tiles (lovely), ply wood and concrete ( slightly less lovely).
Happy weekend!Mortgage Free thanks to ill-health retirement0 -
Morning Moo
You are doing well with the ebay. Its great to see that items are not even being missed by the rest of the family:) I am in the mood for clearing out too. Its the weather and the brighter light that gets us going I think. Hope you have a relaxing day today.:)"You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream"C. S. Lewis

Hi Moo, how are you getting on with your eBay listings? I've got mine over with early, as it's sunny and I'd prefer to be out doing something else!Mortgage Free thanks to ill-health retirement0

Mmm.... skipped the E-bay listings in favour of doing something fun in the sun. Spent the day at Betws-y-coed with the hound. Tis so much nicer there when its not populated by tourists. Walked miles. Had a fab time, splurged a little but in a very controlled way.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500
