Maybe OH needs to look for work with a better company?

If there was any other work available that pays a similar wage, he would have jumped ship ages ago.

The last 2 hours have been spent with phone calls going back and forward between us, hire company and boss and it's still not sorted out. You couldn't make it up. 5 different people have been involved in this so far, 6 if you include OH.

Sadly we don't have time to book a removal company as much as I'd now like to. I just called round a few and the earliest they could do it would be over 2 weeks away, on average.

Poor you, even at the best of times moving is stressful. Now that you have the delay can you get a bottle to share with oh after the move?

Its amazing who can be roped in to lift stuff.....I got a parking ticket person to lift my dog into the car this morning. :) Charm and helplessness.

We live in a small Highland village remember, I don't think we even have parking people. :D

I was in car park in the town...I don't even have a village here, tis just me. :) Anyone who stops here is likely to get enlisted to help in someway. Yesterday a farming neighbour popped in to say hello and left promising to bring his tractor down and do something for me next week. :) Its not a huge thing to him, but a great help to me. The postman gave a chicken and her chick some water for me when he arrived and I was having trouble bending over to pour the water :oAntoher neighbour helps with something else and so on...things get sorted. :) The point is really, to take a little help where ever you can get it. :D

Happiness is ..... ignoring all that's going on around you whilst sitting on the couch with a plate of fried, leftover new potatoes from last night's dinner. Comfort food time. :D

Would you believe technology is what's holding us up now?

The van company need to see a particular document before they will agree the hire.

    The boss faxed a copy.

It came out blank at the other end.

The boss then emailed a copy.

The van company couldn't open the attachment.

    Stalemate.

It's taken hours to get to this point. :rotfl:

I'm about to call daughter's pal's Mum to ask if she can stay over...then I'm off to the pub. :D

(Not really but it makes me feel better to think I might.) :D

    You have a local pub!

March in there at lunchtime ish - ask who would like a drink on you in return for shifting some furniture for half an hour. (as they are big strong men it won't take them long).;)

Again...we live in a small Highland town. :D Any locals that are in the pub during the day are usually the town drunks. They need carrying themselves never mind carrying 'stuff'. :D I'd rather just stick with OH and me with my gammy arm. :rotfl:

Van finally dealt with. Assuming the person who has it now, returns it when they are supposed to, we can pick it up at close of business today. They finally got the document situation sorted out, thank goodness.

We will load this evening and drive down late tonight...then come back tomorrow and do it all over again with the second load.

I don't understand why I'm not skinny. :undecided Mind you, maybe all the comfort food I eat these days has something to do with that. :rotfl:
