They used to show all of them, eight in total if I recall correctly on your CRA file.

But, recently it only shows protective registration and the one related to theft of and use of your identity to open / take over accounts. I assume they stopped showing the others such as material falsehoods found in application, application accepted / declined as they don't want and are not allowed to tip you off to the fact they know what you are doing. They might consider it would allow you to try and manipulate the system in some other way which is what they think you tried to do, what is on your file at your mum's address and what date is on it relative to your bankruptcy and discharge (is the discharge date noted too). As you say for the sake of 2 months it seems rather petty unless something adverse was registered against you at that address.

Hi thanks for your reply, my bankruptcy was registered against my mums address, but when i went in the branch to apply for a santander account the guy knew i was bankrupt as i was applying for a cash card account, when it cam to the previous addresses i said i had a few, he just said what was the last main addresses, which i gave him however this didnt include my mums address and i didnt even think about the fact that they may think i was trying to hide something
A - because i had told the guy in branch i was a discharged bankrupt.
B - all my addresses are on my credit files because i gave them when i enrolled and my bankruptcy is shown on my credit file.

I am waiting to hear back from santander

I don't get this at all.

I called to cancel with Experian after i'd got my score. The woman on the phone was helpful & told me my 4k overdraft with Halifax is seen as an allowance & can effect me getting a credit card yes/no.

So i cancelled it instantly. £0 overdraft.

Looking at the file a week later, i have STILL used 49% of credit available to me. It made zero difference to the file (as did paying off my Tesco credit card it seems).

Somehow i have over 4k outstanding, even though the only outstanding funds i can think of are on my AA credit card, which has a limit of £2.8k. so go figure. Tesco card is paid off, no cards have overdrafts anymore.

Not unusual, the on-screen form is not set-up for multiple previous addresses (and were it is it is far less work to just put in one when there are a few) and the advisor probably does not know about the fact a fraud prevention search is carried out to look specifically for hidden adverse data.

The fraud dept. that put the CIFAS on wont have been party to your conversation with the personal banker and it is unlikely the personal banker made notes on the account to say what you had told them.

So you have become a victim of the personal banker not advising you that you are required to disclose all of these details , in particular the address at which the bankruptcy was registered and that the bank think you should have read the full terms and conditions and data protection act statement before you signed the form that was stuck under your nose with a sign here please. Not "spend half an hour reading this and two days trying to understand it before asking questions to clarify what it means and then sign it".

I hope you are successful in getting the marker removed, I would make sure you explain exactly what happened as I think there is a possibility they mis-treated you under the banking code, although I don't know the code off by heart.

You would indeed think because you know all of your addresses are linked on your CRA file that the bank would see the same thing and again know you are not commiting fraud, one person has been lax in taking the application and the fraud dept. have been overzealous in placing the marker without going back to the personal banker or you to ask any questions, as in have you missed anything out. Again, I agree, you would think the fraud dept. would have realised that if you were going to commit this type of fraud you would at least have went for an account that does not just have a cash card and you cant get credit with, so you should not really even be credit searched for it.

    Good Luck.

The banks usually update the status of credit accounts once each month. You can't even be sure which day they are reporting the status for. For example, they may send the status for June (recorded at the beginning of the month) much later, maybe even well into July. Whenever you depend on something to be shown with the CRAs, it's best to wait 6-8 weeks. Well, except for credit searches

does anyone know another site that offers a free month trial like experian?? my experian trial expired its free period and i chosen to not continue it, but i had submitted some notices of correction on my file which i expect havent been added yet so i would like to see if they were actioned if i can sign up elsewhere. i don't really fancy paying up to 20 a month at the moment just to be registered with a site to see my credit file but probably will further down the line.

Quite, it isn't an instant update.

When I reduced my HSBC overdraft from £1,000 to £500 they took nearly three months to update my credit file to reflect this fact.
    Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48
  • My credit cards are updated regularly on my Experian Report, compared to some other types of credit like my Orange account which can take 4-7 weeks to up date. I pay a bill around the 11th of July that will not be uploaded to Experian until the first week of August. I think its best to always keep in mind that your credit report is 2 months behind. If you clear alot of debt this month, then think to yourself that these positive changes will be on my credit file this time in September.

    Strange one this (to me).

I've done no more applications since i last checked my file (which had a score of 882). All i've done is cancel my £4,200 Halifax overdraft & get in touch with first direct to remove my £500 overdraft.

I check my score today ... dropped to 845.

Am i supposed to have whopping overdrafts or something?!
