Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

op - The csa cannot tell you to return to work - the only reason they will contact you is if they are asked to complete a reassessment so they have to ask you for your current circs. if you just advise them that your circs have not changed that is all they need. If this is happening often it will be that your ex partner keeps asking for the case to be looked at. i can assure you staff do not have the time to keep looking into cases just for the hell of it and this is only done when a reassessment is requested.Comp Wins 2011 : Cant wait to start listing everything:j:j:j0

I am going to remind you all to please be nice to all moneysavers
OP - I have to admire your bravery at posting this on a public forum because you will get it from all sides, however on this occassion I do agree with speedster, that actually the CSA cannot force you back into work. The benefits system is not legally entitled to force you to take a job if it will leave you worse off and that will transmute itself through to the CSA if push came to shove.
I would like to point out though that this forum is not filled with man hating rug munchers (although the phrase me giggle this morning) nor hens, however balancing the books, there are many PWC's on here who struggle to get any sort of payments through the CSA, just as much as there are NRP's who have had incorrect or unfair assessments.
Have you been to see your MP, James? Rather than worrying about them trying to pin something on you, perhaps it would be better to find out just what it is they DO want and then addressing that issue. If all of the information that you have given on here is correct then you will be fine.
Now all play nicely, and dont descend into name calling or I will close the threadFree/impartial debt advice: Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) | National Debtline | Find your local CAB0 -
I know two NRPs who avoid paying CSA, one is a serial job hopper - as soon as he gets a call from the CSA he packs in his job and the other is a househusband to his stepchildren.
In neither case (afaik) did the CSA ask them to get jobs - they rightly told the PWC that there was no income to assess and therefore no child maintenance due.0 -
That would be depriving himself of income and the CSA will still charge a liability.0

Yes, and he brought in the parliamentary ombudsman who was given contradicting information from the CSA and brought in the serious fraud office for a corruption enquiry. Problem solved.
I have asked my MP to intervene in the telephone calls but he says I have to apply for a restrtaining order. I dont have that kind of money, so I came here for a money saving experts position.0 -

I never thought of it like that.
Me ex deprives my kids of me, their father
My ex used the CSA to turned the children into cash
The CSA tried to defraud me of thousands with some nonsense decision
Karma has been very fair.0
