I don't think they are on CSA 1. As far as I can remember (mid 90's) oh was only allowed housing costs (but not CT) and pension costs. We would have been made up to be on CSA 2!!!!

Thanks for your input, I'll look into whether or not council tax is allowed.

That is an interesting point you have made.

Officially the CSA did not count it as housing costs.

    Thank you.

Yes a small allowance is permitted.

    http://www.csa.gov.uk/en/PDF/leaflets/old/CSA2024.pdf

An allowance for travel-to-work costs for any parent who
has to travel more than 240 kilometres (about 150 miles) a
week to and from work, measured as a straight line. The
parent can claim 6p as exempt income for every kilometre
over 240 kilometres they travel to work. This does not apply
to parents who are self-employed or whose employer helps
    to pay travel costs.
    :footie:
:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

    The reverse would be true.

You can leave the thread, instead of disrupting my enquiry.

This information is already known, but I had not seen it in a PDF before.

This leaves all the more puzzled why the CSA fought me at every corner to prevent me paying travel to work.

I lived in Chippenham and worked in Slough, and its well within the 150 line distance.

Thank you HappyMJ, a nice find.

OP you do seem to be missing the point of parental responsibility in your endeavours to save money and perhaps this amongst other things is clouding the issue

Yes, and he brought in the parliamentary ombudsman who was given contradicting information from the CSA and brought in the serious fraud office for a corruption enquiry. Problem solved.

I have asked my MP to intervene in the telephone calls but he says I have to apply for a restrtaining order. I dont have that kind of money, so I came here for a money saving experts position.

I know there is a letter you can send debt collection agencies if they keep harassing you by phone. There is a template on this site somewhere, maybe you could take a look and adjust it accordingly and then send it off.

    It may help.

The law was executed against me to the maximum extent, and this is the result.

I think I have seen it, but I understand it might not apply to government agencies.
