Got back from our break on Boxing Day but stayed in bed all day yesterday as I have a really bad cold.
No sales shopping for us. We are trying to get rid of our excess and now Christmas is over, we can go back to normal spending. I have been with MSE a year now and have saved a fortune by following suggestions from the threads. I did take my mother to Debenhams on Boxing Day, it was the only place open.
We will be clearing the house to get it on the market as soon as I feel OK and the holidays are properly over. I desperately want to be out of this place by April - last summer was horrible. An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:

Morning
I too am still in my PJ's although had a bad night's sleep - had 2 small glasses of red wine yesterday tea-time, so the "red wine insomnia" kicked in
Kids off to town with Mr TM today - he can take cheques to the bank, including 2 for ebay sales. I may have to venture to Mr T's, only because we are having an "open house" tomorrow - I still have to ring most people but as it's a "turn up with a bottle whenever" type do, and most know it's in the offing, it will be fine. There are 3 vegetarians coming so I think I'll make a veggie lasagne ...... will use up the xmas roast vegHowever, it does mean there will be LOADS of kids here.... 99% boys too
The noise, the mess.....
The laundry mountain needs attacking today. Have my first load in the WM but it's a dank, dreary, drizzley day out there so the TD will be pressed into action.
Right, need to get into the shower before it's time for bed again :rotfl:
Have a good day and ((hugs)) to those who need them

Hi :hello:
My sore throat is better today, but I now have a cough and cold...
Not much planned today - done a load of towels in WM - they are in TD now
Dinner is defrosting in the fridge (living off frozen left overs to use them up!)
Trying to convince OH we need to make a start on repainting the study...
He is 6'1", so gets to do the ceilings - which he hates!
So glad cookie has been found - quite an adventure for the little mite.
(((hugs))) to those unwell or in pain

Hi all.
Not a lot happening here. DH is muttering about going to the sales cos he needs new shoes. I don't really want to go there - think the kids and I will head to the park.
Mum just phoned to say that she and dad will come down on sunday rather than saturday. Realised when I put the phone down that this will mean them being here on hogmanay (they'll stay overnight cos it's a bit far to drive to Dalgety Bay). Drats, do I dare say that this isn't very good. It would spoil DH and I sitting watching crappy scottish telly waiting for the bells. And more to the point would mean I would HAVE to stay up to midnight, and I would have to invite the inlaws cos it would be it bit rude to have my folks round and not dhs. oh dear. I think I need to become a hermit.
Off to think of a decent excuse - they can always come next week.
(and monday is dhs last day of holidays so I don't think he wants to spend it with his MIL)"You can't get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me." - C.S. Lewis0 -
Morning everyone (well in my world it still is:o )
Its lovely to read about everyones christmases - sounds like most of them passed without too much drama:D good to see cookie is back from his christmas adventure.
Where are you off to tired mum anywhere nice - v jealous:D
Still in pjs here enjoying a bit of time in my own house - The Two Ronnies and a bacon butty cant argue with that:T Had a lovely chrismas at my brothers where I easily ate my own weight in most of the food groups but partcularly the unhealthy onesGot some lovely pressies - and a couple of bizarre ones:rotfl: but it wouldnt be christmas without those eh!
This afternoon I am off to dinner with a friend I havent seen for 3 years - he only lives 40 miles away but we somehow stopped putting the effort in and time flew by as it does. We used to be such good friends (known him and his family for over 20 years) It came home to me the other day when his son asked me for a reference for his new promotion and would I come in see him as there may be some work for the buisness:eek:  (I used to babysit him and change his nappy!!!) Anyway judging by the phone call I think we will pick up where we left off friendship wise and of couse its another opportunity to hoof a load more food:rotfl:
Tomorrow my god daughter is competing in a horse show which I cant wait to see then its big fat lunch at the pub opposite (theres a theme here:rolleyes: )
No sales for me this week - I cant stand fighting crowds and I did have a bit of a spend in the online sale at next just before christmas so still waiting on most of that.
Right best get myself fluffed I suppose:rotfl: dont want to frighten my friends too much:eek:
Have a lovely day all

Afternoon Guys!
We didnt get to the cinema:mad: ....we had to pop to get some fridge stuff in and was in my scooter and felt really rough all of a sudden...head pounding again. I think I will give my doc a ring later and tell him. Feel bad that DD missed out but will try again tomorrow and we bought her a latch hook tiger to do this afternoon. Have put the 5th Element on-OH got it reduced yesterday to £4:D
DD's bedspread/throw is in the WM. It hasnt been washed in about 7 weeks:eek:   , but only goes over her quilt and pillows to look tidy:rolleyes: it had a few marks on it so have put it on a 50c wash with stain spray on it-I hope the marks come out.
Anyway, Id better go. Hugs to all.

Afternoon all!
Iv cancelled tea out at friends as all the kids are full of cold and have sore throats and didnt want them to pass it on, i would feel so bad if friends kids had got it over new year.
The kids not to bothered that we are not going as iv just been and bought batteries for there skanner racers they had for xmas (it was the only batteries i forgot) so they are all running around scanning every barcode thay can find to get new parts for their cars!! They are well cool presents!!
Iv just bought some xmas cards for next year reduced to half price, really pretty ones that i would have never paid full price for, and got the kids a pack each at half price aswell that come with stickers for the envelopes! I am so determind to be organised and not spend alot next xmas.
Right iv finished my coffee so off to put some more washing in, empty tumble drier and prepare something other than party food for tea!! Thinking of hm chips and pizza.LOL if i see another sausage roll before next week ill scream!!
Have a good afternoon all

 just typed a really long post with a personal message to everyone and my laptop just lost it
So I'm afraid everyone is just going to have to settle for a general :grouphug: instead.
Bad night here - some "yoof" who lives in the next block of flats was playing his music really loudly until gone 4am  I had to get up for work at 5.30 so feeling really pants today. We tried to phone the non-emergency police number 101 and after trying for an hour (engaged), we were told that the police don't deal with that type of report and we'd have to report it to Environmental Health instead, but we wouldn't be able to do anything until the morning - how blinkin useless?! personally I think we were fobbed off by the police, surely they should be able to deal with noise complaints? breach of the peace or something like that? The lad who it was lives 2 flats across and 3 floors up from us, so it gives you some idea of the noise level if it woke us up!!
Work was rubbish, then had to brave the throngs (I work in Meadowhall  ) to exchange a pair of slippers for OH in M&S, and return a pair of trousers that the stitching has come undone on (in a rather embarrassing place)
Almost caught up with the Xmas washloads now, and this afternoon I intend to finish Martins book and then do a fridge/freezer/cupboard inventory to see exactly what I have in, in order to use it all up before I have to go shopping again.
Enjoy your afternoon... x0 -
Glad to hear that most of you have had a good Xmas. I can't remember ours ( I have to keep looking at the tree to remember what the season is!! )
It is really weird not knowing what's going on. From my diary I know OH has been at home for the last 3 days but I can't recall any of it & its like I have missed Xmas or it hasn't arrived yet!
Everywhere seems really quiet round about at the moment. I would love to go to the sales but can't cope with the crowds & to be honest don't need anything new (other than a new brain)
OH is at work until 9pm (good start on your first day back)
Must try to remember to put some washing in WM later so it finishes just as OH gets home ( written as a to do in diary - diary has been decorated with some bright tape so it is easier to spot). Also need to look at job cards (tells me step by step how to do various things that I no longer can remember e.g. puttinf together electirc toothbrush)
anway :grouphug: to one & all & I'm off to try to make a drink before I forget again.
Bye
