    Hello everybody,

Just got back from the house. I have the night off , I need to make up a menu for the next week and do a small shop tomorrow morning. We will be going in later next week for supplies so will get a big shop then. It was overcast today but no rain so I was able to go to the dump. :D

CM You needed more than rain to help you with the cricket, a miracle more like it. :D I haven't been able to watch this game. Amanda how is it going?

Well off to shower and wash my hair, it feels and looks like straw. :D Enjoy your meal with XDH Annie.:D Byeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Morning all :hello:

Still suffering from an agonising sore throat but luckily don't feel ill in any other way - hope it stays that way!

Was up bright and early this morning because I am expecting an Argos van which will be bringing me loads of flatpack shelving, a TV stand and a hi-fi stand - so will be able to get my hi-fi set up for the first time since I moved in, reclaim the coffee table which currently has the TV standing on it, and unpack the rest of my boxes :j

Also am expecting an early-bird visit from my dad, who is bringing me some Christmas presents from my mum and sister (he saw them all just before Christmas) and looking at the logistics of putting up my curtains. Then later this morning my ex is coming over for a cuppa. Notice how organised I've been, scheduling all my visitors for the day I have to be in for the Argos delivery, leaving the rest of the week free ;)

Must do something with the remains of the Christmas chook today, too - had a chook as it was only me and ex-housemate, and I prefer chook to turkey! Anyway it's still foil-wrapped in the fridge, and I'm going to have to carve it up for freezing today before it threatens to go off. Got some avocados yesterday so I can have chicken, avocado, pepper and mayo sarnies for lunch - and was going to do a SC casserole for tonight but have forgotten to buy some key ingredients and can't leave the flat till my delivery has come  so will freeze.

Hope everybody's OK, and a big HUG to those who need one.

    Rzl xx

    Edited to say...

    :j :j :j :j :j

My dad just showed up and brought me - from my sister - THRIFTY WAYS FOR MODERN DAYS!

AussieLass - will say nothing and hope that by the time teh Ashes come around again, my application for chairwoman of selectors has been approved :D:D:D, English cricket .... being a fan is definately not all about the good times :)

Well, was planning to hit the swimming pool this morning but was a little down ( see note to AL ) so have not gone. Back to work tomorrow, so I am planning on trying to get my goals for 2007 down on paper first. I have been reading some of the threads on here and need to start to focus my plans.

Have to pop into local town to pay in some cheques me and OH had off the outlaws and I want to bank the last bits of 06's coins so I can start again.

Am planning a turkey curry tonight, never done one of those before so will have to have a search of the recipe thread. Need to make a phone call at 9, my aunt and uncle went to visit Concorde yesterday and now OH is making noises about wanting to go :), so am we have planned to have a 'treat' each month next year I am going to try and organise that today.

Need to call work later to get a handover of whats been going on, must get the rubbish out as it bin day today, a quick tidy round and then when OH is back from work he wants to go to the sales

Never managed to get the sewing machine out yesterday, maybe today :)
    (((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))) to all

Morning all, sat here in my jamas with a :coffee:, doncha just love working from home? :D
The DW saga goes on, Comet didn't show yesterday, so I have cancelled the order. Off to Currys today to buy another one
Did quite well with taking prezzies back yesterday -swopped the nightie for a new pair of black work trousers in M&S, got a "proper" sized calendar instead of the mammoth "family organiser" one, found nice smellies in Boots (Spa) instead of the old lady ones, and exchanged the Denby mugs for a wine cooler and a couple of half price hand towels.
Used (OH's) new breadmaker last night for the fist time - yummy! The bread is quite dense, so I need to experiment a bit to get it right. I think we'll try the french bread recipe next. Anyone else got a MR fastbake, and want to share some tips on what works best?
Better crack on, bedding needs washing today & I've got some jeans finishing off in the TD at the mo.
Have a lovely day everyone

Morning All - Hope we are all well

PP hows the head now? I had a better night sleep, still broken, only got up for 2hrs in the night. Im back at work today, so I hope I last the day.

Bloke never shown last night for the car. He rang OH just after I'd gone to bed and said he got problems with the tow truck, will have to re-arrange for another day. I hope he is genuine and not a timewaster.

Both DS & DD are still in bed. (wish I was)

Anyway, best be off and get a shower before the babysitter comes
Take care all - have a lovely day
    Love as usual

  • Good morning everyone

Well, the roads were nice and quiet on the way to work this morning. There were only about 5 people on the bus :D

Not many people in work either, thankfully. I work in a large, open-plan office and normally the hum of activity makes concentration difficult. I have a fairly involved job to do before I can even think of winding down for our New Year break.

My friend travels back to Scotland tomorrow. I will give him a call at his folks’ tonight for a chat before he leaves.

    Have a good day everyone

    Good morning everyone.

I'll catch up reading the thread later as I'm just about to run out of the door, but hugs to all who would like/need them and I hope everyone is having a pain-free day.

After seeing my guest of at the station yesterday I popped into Boots and sorted the birthday presents I will need in their 50% off sale. They have a mixed bunch of stuff, but there were some very nice things reduced and I was able to get much nicer stuff than my budget would normally have allowed this year so am very well pleased.

I'd set aside a little money to buy a cheap or second hand bike but used that for the presents, I'd like a bike but don't actually "need" one, though it will get good use on the local tow paths and tracks. However, when I got home there was an email offering a ladies bike on Freecycle! I've sent off an email but not heard yet. Fingers crossed icon7.gif

Spent the evening sorting the left-overs into fridge/freezer packs and finding recipes for the stuff that needs using up straight away so I can hopefully freeze the results. Other than fresh vegetables and milk I do not think I need to do anymore shopping for at least a month!

Well Christmas is about people and I have to say the people I shared mine with absolutely made it for me this year, so if you are reading this, thanks :A
My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead :D
