Hi Yall, still in me jimjams having a quick surf before I hit the shower;) We are off to my mum & dad's today for our second 'Christmas Day' so I've not much to do.
Yesterdays washing is not fully dry yet so I guess I will have to leave the airer as it is and do the ironing tomorrow instead:D LOL I have taken all the Christmas Cards down though, we always take them down early because it is Mrs MATH's brithday on New Years Eve so we need to make some room. I've updated my Christmas Card list and am pleased to note 6 people who I haven't clapped eyes on for 20 years or more have finally dropped me from the mailing list so I can now do the same:D Not really the Christmas Spirit, I know, but my sending list is starting to make the Doomsday Book look like a raffle ticket and needs a light trim!
I've been watching the great unwashed go mad at the sales on TV with mild amusement. I have no intention of going near a shop until we run out of milk. I will have to get some yoghurts for the MATHLETTS going back to shcool but appart from that I think we can last 2/3 weeks with onlt bare minumum spending. YAY!
As a MSE project I bought no clothes or shoes last year and intend to do the same in 2007 (providing I can loose a stone in weight before the end of Feb:eek: ) If the weight doesn't come off tho I will have to change plans and hit Owen & Brown and see what fits me!!! It was very satisfying actually wearing some things out and clearing a bit of hanging space, fortunate for me the 80's a hip again so I don't get too many funny looks PMSL.
Have a good day

Good morning everyone:hello:
Keep trying to post but my internet connection doesn't like it
Not much OS going on here Im afraid - I'm feeling worse again!!! Every tooth in my head hurts, my sinuses are blocked again and I feel soooo weak! Just no energy to do anything. Normally I just ignore a cold, but this one's really dragged me down. Still I suppose it's moneysaving cos there's no way Im hitting the sales:rotfl: I'm a rubbish sales shopper anyway:o Tend to come home with "bargains" that are no use to me or anybody else:rolleyes:
I'm going to drag myself off to the kitchen and make a nice cup of tea. ((((hugs))))) to all in need (you can't catch this from virtual hugs honestly!)
Hope to be back later.
CMxx
PS Tried to skim some old threads, good to see you back ageandjo! Seems you love your new house?:D I obviously missed your return, sorry about that!

Hi everyone,
Back to the daily grind. I would stay and surf all day given the choice but I've got some assignments to finish so I must ration myself. I've worked the days between Christmas and New Year for 3 years now and it's always deathly quiet. I'm the only one in and it can get a bit spooky.
Had a nice Christmas but seem to have spent most of it travelling, oh and had a real disaster on the way. Last Friday when it was so foggy we were driving up the A1 when we noticed the car in front had no rear lights. Dh pulled alongside and I opened my window to indicate the problem and my brand new specs went flying off in the wind!   We had to go home to get my old ones. Luckily they are covered under the house contents because they cost a mint but at the time I was weeping buckets.
Hope you all had lovely Christmases, I'll try and catch up with the threads later.

OMG!!! I seriously wish i had the willpower to pull that one off!! Any tips on sticking to it? My new years resolutions about clothes/shoes/accessories are more along the lines of not spending more than £40/monthMost of it has been neccessary though - have gone from 14-16 to 8-10 :j
Im not dressed yet either. OH has gone to work for a while. I am making a meal plan and shopping list (my first one ever!!) and going to pop to down to morrisons. Intend to buy enough to last exactly 1 week and include ingredients for 2 meals ive never made before.
Went to buy gear for my skiing holiday last night from designer outlet style place. (old stuff too big). Came to over £100 for coat, sallopets, gloves, scarf + various accessories. Was just about to hand over my money when OH gave the sales assistant his card and said to put my stuff through with his. Late christmas present for me
Hope everyone has a good day0 -
Morning everyone
I hope everyone had a good christmas. We had a lovely time at my Mum and Dad's. DD had a nasty cold but seems to be over it now. My favourite part of christmas was heading off to the rugged Norfolk coast on boxing day with DH, DS and my parents labradors and having a lovely walk and the dogs a lovely swim ( nutters!).
It was also nice to get home, children opened their presents before we left but had no time to play with them so DS is now busy with lego and DD is next to me making me a playdough cake!
I am waiting in for a mega tesco's delivery, I had no intentions of going anywhere near a supermarket before january but my New Year's eve meal includes squid and I couldn't get that delivered so will have to venture out. The house needs a bit of a clean through today and washing needs to be done.
Have a lovely day0 -
Have just put gammon joint, dried peas, onions, carrots and potatoes with boiling water in the slow cooker for a huge pot of pea and ham soup.
Need to get dressed and have a look at the market if there is one. DH took me to Lidl and Aldi yesterday so not desperate for shopping.
Anyone turning their noses up at soup can have a baked potato or something on toast as I want to keep meals simple and light till New Years Eve.
Big hug to those feeling ill."This site is addictive!"
