Sale of Goods Act Advice

Options
I made an appointment for a sales person to visit my home.

Contract signed for services (which have yet to start).

I'm regretting it and wonder if I have the right to cancel them. I'm wondering if that the sale of goods act allows the 7 day cooling off period for people I have arranged to visit my home.

Thanks
R

The Distance selling act is the one you're looking for. And provided the contract was signed in your home, or online or via phone, then they apply (except in a small number of cases - what is the service for?).
    Squirrel!
If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

    Have you paid any money?

Then cancel and let them argue about nothing later.

The Cancellation of Contracts made in a Consumer’s Home or Place of Work etc. Regulations 2008 are the Regs which will apply in this case.

Reg. 7 gives you the right to cancel within 7 days of receiving the notice detailing your cancellation rights. See reg. 8 for the details of how to do so.
Unless the contract is for one of those listed in Schedule 3 (I don't see that photography meets the criteria listed there).

If you have also signed a credit agreement, then that will automatically be cancelled too.
