    Afternoon everyone

Jackie - I'm sure Alan is watching proudly over you all, big hugs x :A
    Welcome monnagran - we're a friendly bunch x :)

Bit of late one from me, haven't felt too good today, so have been plodding along - had so much to do too, so have just done the essential stuff, as DH and I are going away tomorrow and the boys are going to stay with grandparents. I have managed to go to the bank, do the food shopping, done washing x 3 loads and iron x 3 loads, pack for us and the boys for the weekend - so haven't exactly sat on **** all day. Feel much better now though, hope that's it and I can enjoy the weekend.

Cloudy and overcast with sun trying to get out every so often here, was really chilly this morning but has now warmed up.

DS1 is cooking dinner tonight, I've decided he can cook 1 night a week to give me a night off, but obviously will keep an eye on him to make sure it doesn't interfere with his homework/coursework when he starts his exam courses in September and that he doesn't burn the house down!

When I did my food shop this morning I didn't have much on my list and when I paid thought it had cost more than I thought, when I got shopping put in car I sat in my car and checked my receipt and I'd bought a chicken pie and I'd been charged for 3 - the operator had added them on and then tried to void them and then added them back on - as I'd left the store I thought they would be really funny about it but they couldn't apologise enough, gave me the money back and a £2 giftcard for making the error in the first place - customer service does exist in some stores still! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

    Hey everyone,

A very late one from me but I've been out the house since half 7 & when I got in at 4ish I went straight into the kitchen!

Have had a long day today - very tired & stressful at work & they've announced all overtime is cut until further notice which scuppers my earnings a bit! I am getting better at money saving which is a small mercy because at least it makes what I have go further.

Bought some biscuits today for dunking & decided to chance it on Basics ones rather than our normal branded ones - they're lush!! We now have a very full biscuit tin for the month for the hungry boys in my life :)

Had a bit of a barney on the phone with OH when I got in & he hung up but I'm not sure if I should call him back or let him cool off. Have defrosted a very posh pack of chicken breasts with cheese and ham on top (bought at final reductions at work) so he better calm down quick or he'll miss out! :P

Hope it's sunny for you all wherever you are in the world xxxx

:rotfl:Ah, the thing is, dogs like carrots! One of my little guests, Benjy, brought a bag of carrots with him, and my instructions were that he had a dish of dog food and a carrot for each meal - he always ate the carrot first!

Talking of carrots, I've made carrot'n'orange cake today, using the delicious carrots we got at the PYO the other day.

*Waves* to Pen-Pin nice to see you posting; hope life's treating you nicely.

BITSY so impressed with your cake, have you thought about going into business.

I ought to make it clear my mum has helped me, workers co-operative. TBH I am not sure I could make a business out of it, too stressful and that's just the kids cakes ;) Plus we'd really need some stainless steel or marble worktops as the icing is a real pig to roll on normal worktops.
Bitsy I stayed with DS at his disco last year as he wouldnt have stayed without me....no one said anything and there were loads of parents there helping etc anyway so no one really noticed tbh:D
DS has his tomorrow night so I shall be staying again. Does your DS have ear defenders? If so take them just incase;)

He was fine for 5 mins. He was holding hands with another girl and jumping. Then ran round with some boys from his class and then got separated from them. He just stood in the middle bewildered and unsure and then promptly spent the next 15 mins crying and saying he wanted to go home :( Last year I could coax him along and he'd dance with me but today he's not having any of it. Then to top my day off nicely one of the girls I look after said she doesn't want to play with DS because he shouts and repeats the same words all the time :( He doesn't understand why she doesn't want to play with him. How on earth do you explain that one???

Another glorious day here :D So lucky to be in my job as this week we have spent 2 afternoons at beach and 2 in the country park! Although I did have to shout at work kids today cos all bar 2 were over 10mins late back from their break, so I told them how disapointed I was in them and took the time off all their lunch breaks, which hopefully means they will learn the lesson!

Popped to Asda after work for some bits and I'm just waiting for someone to pick up something from freecycle before I make dinner. I hope they turn up soon!

OS wise - HM pizza for tea, need to make packed lunch, not much else :o

    Have a good evening all

    Bonsoir

Landed safely in Bordeaux. Just been and had dinner, and now having a half hour chill before we call it quits. Fireworks for Bastille Day start around 11pm, but do not feel like driving any more today - Done over 1000km.

Calais tomorrow, before we cross via the Tunnel on Saturday morning, really looking forward to a rainy drive up north on Saturday.

Jackie-0 Oh how the years fly by, ((hugs)) to your and your family, I know you have lots of happy memories.

Pen-Pin Sorry to hear your health isn't good, but pleased to see you, please just pop in when you can.

R-R sorry to hear you are feeling carp.

    :grouphug: Anyone with backache :grouphug:

Taplady - has DH been scanned/x-rayed to prove his problem or is it just a GP's presumption of symptoms??

    Welcome :hello: Monnagran

Might have to cuddle DH tonight, slighly different temperature here, woke up at 5.20am this morning melting, so got up and got organised so we were off by 6.45am.

Lunch today was Ham & Tomato sandwiches for DH I made this morning, and hard boiled egg, and fish sticks for me (use up the fridge) Breakfast for me was a slice of ham left over from DH sarnies, while DH had his staple cereal.

Think we have found his tummy problem, he was not eating enough stodge!! He doesn't have a weight problem, but was trying to keep me company, and just having a salad, with no bread or potatoes. Changed him back, and it settled down again!!

    Take care all - DG

JackieG - I am keeping an eye on you on fb - while you're being strong just remember to look after you too!

I am shameully absent but I am trying hard to return to the OS ways after falling of the wagon for a while but I do read when I can

    Take care all xx

Anyone watching Torchwood? The house and the beach where the Welsh lady (don't know the character name - Gwen?) lives is right by me! :) It's the house I'd buy if I won big bucks on lottery!
