    Hi everyone,

I thought that when I gave up work I'd be able to post every day, but it hasn't worked out like that and I don't want to bore you all with my mundane doings.

I'm gradually going around sorting out all the cupboards and have completely re-jigged our study so that it is a pleasant room to be in rather than a junk room- I used to hate going in there, but now I love it, especially the rug I got based on a painting by Kandinsky (Circles).

I'm just going through several boxes which are full of cables and wires. DH is a real techie so we have lotsof cables from them, plus all the mobiles we have had over the years. I hate them with a passion and keep nagging him to sort them, label the ones we need and throw out the rest - maybe one day.

I'm waiting for a delivery to arrive, impatiently because i need to go out to buy some ingredients to make the slow roast pork shoulder from economy gastronomy, I wish it would arrive.

I have been keeping up with the thread for the most part - Jackie G I was very sorry to hear about your BIL, I hope your back feels better soon, I empathise because I have the same problem sometimes. Taplady, I hope you get to keep your meals, sometimes employers do things which are counterproductive just save a bit of money.

I'll try to keep posting rather than just lurking.

ARGH. have come home for lunch to an empty rabbit cage. I feared the worst as puppy is at home and although they love each other we usually only let them out supervised. Checked every room and there is no rabbit corpse.... i found her in my room (how did she get up the stairs?) and now can't get her out from under my bed. Therefore all hopes of actually eating something today are quickly going out the window....

How do i get her out?

Also i think BIL let her out, i can't be sure, but he's been in and i don't think i left her cage open today (and puppy can't open it!)

Cheapskate - Hope the finances get sorted, do children ever stop giving you grief?!
JackieO - I know how hard it is for you - you have wonderful memories though and a fantastic legacy with the rest of your family - special hugs to you today.
JackieG - Hope you feel better soon, backache just grinds you down.
Moorhen - Congrats to your musical stars!

    Afternoon All

Fantastic weather here again, just hope it doesn't cloud over again like it did yesterday. I was sat reading in the garden and suddenly realised that I was frozen! Went and bought a pressure sprayer this morning to deal with the weeds, Homebase wanted £30 for one but Asda were selling some meant for fence spraying for £9. Guess which one I bought!! It has done the job just fine.

Washing on the line, DW been on (had a big dinner last night which was nice) and the house is generally looking ok. DS1 came last night after work for his dinner so good to spend some time with him. As he was leaving he said that he would like to see more of us and wanted us around when the baby arrives (5 weeks time) and did his best to apologise for how they have behaved. As I told him before I was quite willing to move on and put it behind us and he seems to have come round. Hopefully his GF will come round too. Feel much better about the whole situation, just hope it continues to improve.

Going to sit and read in the garden again this afternoon, going to do my bit at the hospice at 4 and then another evening off from my evening job!

    Take care all. XX

Didn't have chance to post yesterday, had a mega busy day.

DD's birthday cake is finished. Pics on my homepage if anyone is interested.
Lovely and sunny here, pity it's not scheduled to be like this for DD's party on Saturday. BBC weather says Hail !!!!!!
Anyway next few days are going to be a blur of food prep and errecting gazebo's. Next time I think about holding a party at home will someone please give me a slap and tell me to come to my senses :rotfl:

Tea is LO cottage pie from last night. DS is going to school disco tonight for an hour so have made a request to stay........hope they let me otherwise we'll be seeing a massive ASD meltdown. I don't want to exclude him from these events as he can cope if I am there to support him. Anyway wish me luck, he'll probably spend all his time saying he wants to go home ;)

Nothing else to report, plodding on as usual.

JackieO - Huge hugs for you, I am sure Alan is living on through all of you and is very proud of you all xxx

cheapskate - Hugs for you, can't be easy having to deal with your DS. Although I do wonder whether sometimes it's best to let them fall........only way he's going to learn to deal with money is if he takes responsibility for it. Just my opinion and I am sure if boot was on other foot I'd be doing the same :o xxx

JackieG - Hope you're back better soon, you've got your wedding planner duties to contend with ;)

Penny Pincher - Nice to see you posting, hope you're OK xxx

Hugs and spoons all round. Have a wonderful Thursday everyone OS or not.

    Hi Everyone,
I'm new to all this and this is my first ever message. Yay! as my DGD would say.
Cheapskate: Been there. Why do some people with little money make it stretch and others with much more spend wildly and whack up frightening debts? I have 2 DSs both brought up by thrifty old me. One is Mr Spend-Wisely and one is Mr Fritter-Your -Money -Away-And-Grizzle-To-Mum. Got no answers but I'm with you in spirit.
Have just lost my dear Dad and have all his clothes in piles all round the house. Am trying to get them all washed and ironed before disposing of them. Will try to find a homeless shelter or somesuch that might be glad of them.
Lovely to make your acquaintance all of you.
