Sounds like a manageable pre-holiday list Dinah! Hope you manage to get your bath soon :) and have a brilliant, relaxing time!

Lara, how horrid about the haircut - I hope you've got someone different to sort it!

I LOVE your venue and theme - the typewriters are amazing! I have slight book-y theme, so will have to keep in touch :D

I'm making a slow start to the challenge - we sold OH's car, so have a little refund from the insurance and a girl at work has given me some petrol money this week. Still waiting for about £50 from TCB so fingers crossed that will come through in next week or so :)

Wendz, you're doing really well! I'm not surprised you want to stay off as long as possible! When were you originally planning to go back to work?

I was originally planning Jan, as that is the last month i get my maternity pay but now i am hoping to stay off till March, maybe even April if i can keep some money by. I am allowed to stay off till the middle of April. I haven't told my work yet and have to give 8 weeks notice so got time to see how things go.

    Morning CMD *waves*

Had my bath - stuck a sign on the door that I was getting something from the attic and to knock and wait, but it's an hour later and he's still not here.

Fridge has decided today is the day to go on the blink - argh!

Hope you get the haircut sorted out Lara x

Glad to hear you might be able to take longer on maternity Wendz

Hi everyone, back at work today - wish I wasn't! Feeling very on top of things though and relaxed, it was nice to have yesterday afternoon to sort myself out a bit.

Lara you poor soul, you're having as bad a week as me! Hope the new haircut is better and yikes to being cut and scratched - so much for a relaxing pampering experience! I was tempted by a Groupon voucher for a reduced highlights and cut at Regis but looking at the small print (extra supplement for long hair etc etc) it would be just as expensive as my normal haircut and at least I know and trust my hairdresser.

Ah Wendz I can imagine you don't want to go back! How long do you have to be back before you can go off on Maternity with Baby #2? I know a few people who seem to be playing that game!

When do you set off Dinah and NIM? You're driving aren't you? Whereabouts are you going? Very jealous, but my own hol is only three weeks away and I've barely started my blanket, must get cracking!

EDIT - oh no to the fridge! If it's not one thing it's another. Must have been jealous of the shiny new washer and decided to go on strike :D

Glad you are feeing better Tete! Is always nice to have some time to sort things out.

I am not sure how long you have to go back. Think we will have to wait until Poppy has some free hours at nursery or near school age as can't afford two in fulltime childcare.

Arghh about the fridge Dinah. Our washing machine is playing up and i have loads of washing to do for our holiday grr.

I'm hopeful that as the freezer still works the fridge should be fine. I like our fridge:(

Dropped off the car at the mechanics this morning and cycled 2.5 miles from there to work, its only 1.9 but I got a lil lost. Feel wide awake today and think I might do more cycling from now on...just need a bike lock :)
This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.

You are right to take off as long as you can Wendz. I started my new job the week Max turned 1 and was delighted to have been off for so long. I like working part-time too, is that an option for you?

I have just 6 months in this job and then am off on maternity again. I am glad though, as this job defo isn't for me. Having said that, I would have quit at the start if I wasn't pregnant again. I won't be going back this one and don't know when/if I will be going back to work again for a few years. I might look for a 2 day week job when this little one turns 1, as I do like working a couple of days.

Hope you have a lovely holiday Dinah. Yourself and NIM deserve one.

    Morning Tete and Birdie!

My poor little Max. He was horrendous yesterday and in the worst pain I have ever seen him. I can honestly say it was the worst day I had with him since he was born and when OH came home from work I was in tears as he was in so much pain and there was nothing I could do. OH dropped him off at creche this morning and had to return & bring him to the GP. It turns out he has hand foot and mouth (caught from another baby at creche) so he has little mouth ulcers in his mouth. No wonder he was drooling so much and not eating/drinking. We all got about 3 hours sleep last night and as he had no temperature it didn't occur to us that he night have something other than teething. The poor little thing :(

Apparently maternity leave is calculated based on how much you earn between the 10th and 16th week of pregnancy and averaged out - so so long as you're back at work full pay by the 10th week of pg you'd get the same entitlement all over again.

Set off about 11pm tonight, I'm so excited I have butterflies. But then again that could just be fear because of how much still needs organising.

Aw poor Max that sounds absolutely awful. Is there any baby calpol or anything that he can take? Hope he clears up soon as thats a horrible thing for him to have to be dealing with.
