reduced christmas food/sweets/biscuits at supermarkets (merged)

Just been to Baguley Tesco Extra - no cakes left that I could see, but some small boxes of choc. I got some choc covered coffee beans, about 30p instead of 99p, some cote d'or chocs about half price. Best of all a Green and Black gift set -large A4 pb book of choc recipes and two 150g bars of organic dark cooking choc for £3 (was about £12) in a plastic gift box. Use by Nov 2007, but I got them for upcoming birthdays. Had about 6 books left at 1pm.

(note: it is cooking choc for the recipes, presumably you can't just eat it)

Just been to Lidl. They have really good reductions on different sweets, i.e. marzipan balls for 19p., Chocolate barrels (with liqueur inside, yummy) for 29p., assorted marzipan (125g) for 19p., box of chocolate sweets with cherry brandy for 69p.

Just bought 2 500gm slabs of Mature Stilton at Sainsbury Calcot for 49p each reduced from £3.25. They have a best before date of 20/01/2006 so will keep for a while. Would make great stilton and brocoli soup . they had loads on the end of the cheese aisle at 5pm tonight if anyone is interested.

I,m going to risk cutting one up into chunks and freezing it for use in my salads in the next month.

Wish he'd picked up some more to freeze & for soup!

Tesco has a whole isle dedicated to bargain christmas fodder from cheap crackers to boxes of chocolates for 80p!!!!

Cheap christmas bits - like cards, wrapping paper etc.

There was also cheap christmas cakes and further varieties of chocs!!!

Got dragged away by Mr Ety - he just doesn't understand sometimes!!!
