Hi Dean,
In one of your earlier posts, you stated that you couldn't renew your car insurance because you had only just started it. But car insurance isn't a contract like a mobile phone- imagine if you sold the car, you wouldn't keep paying insurance on it then would you?
It is definitely worth checking out other policies by using price comparison sites like https://www.confused.com and others, then when you find a cheaper quote, simply cancel your current policy and switch it over to the new company. Simple!
Good luck0 -

Hi and welcome.
According to my figures you have £105 per week to spend on yourself. I suggest you write this in a little notebook on a Monday and keep a note of what you withdraw/spend and leave some to carry forward to the next Monday (a spending diary). If you have any over, put it towards your most expensive debt, probably Barclaycard. Do not make any further purchases with credit cards and make fixed level payments, never the minimum. Use cash or a debit card only, but keep a note and do not overspend.
I must add here that it may seem uncool to use a book, but unfortunately, despite technology, the banks are useless at helping people control spending so you have to do it yourself.
I have assumed reasonable repayment figures in those below. Good luck and well done for coming to MSE so early.
The figures:
income weekly monthly
self 1100.00
partner
total 0.00 1100.00 divide by 4.33
£253.85
£253.85 total weekly income
spend weekly monthly
rent/mortgage 150.00
council tax 0.00
elec 0.00
gas 0.00
water 0.00
secured loans 0.00
TV licence 0.00
fines 0.00
phone 50.00
petrol 50.00
sky 10.00
car ins 40.00
barclaycard 160.00
virgin 75.00
mum 50.00
bro 20.00
dad 20.00
o2 20.00
total 0.00 645.00 divide by 4.33
£148.85
£148.85 total weekly spend
Start= income - spend = £105.00 per week0 -

If you didn't buy the stuff you didn't really need - you would've saved 100 squid last month - imagine how useful that wouldve been.
I'm sorry to be so harsh - you seem like a nice kind of guy, but unless you stop spending, you're gonna be filling up a bucket with a hole at the bottom.
Good luck with a new job.
